Best way to get into space, building it will cost a bit, but after its built it will not only lift payloads off the planet but provide an access to free energy from space created by.. woops can't tell you that.

Ok, first wrap your mind around the idea of a very long nano netlike tether, it goes out so far that it will create its own gravity well, you can control this by various means.

Use this tether as an "elevator", that's one way, but another exciting way I have envisioned is this.

Take the same type of nano material and create a loop that rotates just next to our planet, this loop has tethers that extend from it and reach the surface of the earth, as the earth and loop tether rotate the tethers go "up and down"
lifting any payload (elevator), the payloads will be aerodynamically shaped and able to fly like a glider.

You will with the same type of system be able to throw or sling payloads into space, whether to orbits, or to be captured by other rotating tether systems and slung even farther out, ultimately reaching your destination using nothing more than inertia.
