It took her several years to get there, but she definitely earned it. She could break a 1" thick hardwood plank by the time she was awarded the belt, and was quite effective in most other areas. In short, anyone can do just about anything they set their mind on. You just need to be thoughtful, deliberate and persistent in your approach. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

I have almost 1year of Aikido and it's great. "Thou we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven that which we are, we are. One equal temper of heroic hearts made weak by time and fate but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield" |

Aikido is all about balance, it's flowing movements are very relaxing (albeit there's some fairly strenuous physicality involved at times), and it is strictly defense. Too much jumping around and all that with TKD |

I strongly disagree with this. Traditional martial arts are a great way to keep in shape. Great for you physically and mentally. It's not what style you know, it's who you are as a person that mainly determines the outcome of a confrontation. Besides, if you're an average guy in an average neighborhood, chances are, you won't be in a situation to "test your skills." |
