WIKILEAKS FUNDING DRIVE
-----------------------------------------------

Julian Assange's very public fund raising campaign has effectively
stalled with past and potential investors fading into the
background. As previously indicated it is NOT the philosophy of
WIKILEAKS that is in question, but Assange's credibility.

The lack of any significant high rollers backing Assange has led
to a significant change of direction concerning fund raising.
These are paid interviews and appearances, and appeals to the
internet community to send money.

Keeping in mind that Assange has publicly stated that he needs
$200,000 USD just to keep the lights on, and $600,000 USD to be
fully funded; then just how much has Assange received, how much
has been spent, and on what? A pressing point when one
considered WIKILEAKS is still effectively closed down, and
Assange continues to enjoy a particularly luxurious lifestyle in
South Africa with no comparable income streams.

From information received, since January 2010 WIKILEAKS income
until end of April 2010 has been:

Internet Donations: $132,347 USD

Media Interviews etc. $82,892 USD

Sponsorships: $28,657 USD

The total income YTD is $243,896 USD. Then why aren't the
lights on at WIKILEAKS Mr. Assange?? When will you provide
audited accounts of WIKILEAKS operating expenditure??

Finally, just keep in mind that Assange has not abandoned the
concept of selling information by auction to media groups on an
exclusive basis. Now just where does that fit into WIKILEAKS
philosophy? To put it brutally, it does not, it's a scheme
designed exclusively to fill Assange offshore bank accounts..

Another proof that wikileaks is controlled opposition runned by TPTB. They pick them up, make some headlines in the press, and then release them. It happened to the "Democracy Now" crew in 2008, you can find more examples of this method.

...who can deny that the releasing of that video was a huge blow to the Iraq War and the War on Terror in general.

A huge blow? No it wasn't. The war has been going on for 8 years and hundreds of thousands of people are killed. This is no "news". Or are there "nice" ways to kill people?

The purpose of this "leak" is to raise indignation against the US among people all over the world. TPTB wants to destroy the US to prepare for the NWO.

Yes this is absolutely true, but sad to say... videos like that are the only hope we have for waking up the Sheople in the USA... it's just like 9/11. Yeah, of course it was a huge mind fuck to kick start the agenda but it also woke a hell of a lot of people up...

Knowledge protects, ignorance endangers!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 918488

I don't understand the logic behind statements like these and I'm desperately trying to make sense out of this particular..."idealogy".

You're claiming the "NWO" purposely let out a "leak" which "woke people up"...?

Just explain, seriously, like I was a 3rd grader, why any organization (particularly one bent on world domination) would do that...?

Explain how exposing war crimes helps the Imperialists wagin war in Iraq.

And since when does indignation for the United States have to be "created"...?

I just don't get it. A site like Wikileaks (admittedly, not that I'm a total expert on it) seems to me to be a vaulable asset in this Wicked Imperialist World. Everybody on this site's always complaining about the "msm". But then at the same time you all shit over a viable alternative like Wikileaks...?

I watched that video and I thought it was one of the most compelling things I've ever seen- especially knowing the background of the journalist and his driver who were murdered in it... Every single person I know who saw it feels the same.

Obviously a video like that isn't going to STOP THE WAR OVERNIGHT. But it's existence/exposure is absolutely, yes, a good thing.

Just someone explain, coherently, how Wikileaks is part of the NWO...? I'm highly skeptical of most "conpiracy-minded theories", but Wikileaks I think is something for which we should all rejoice.

It's an antidote to mainstream, corporate-minded media. And that's a good thing. It's represents the free exchange of information and ideas in one of the most purest forms possible.

I only read the first few paragraphs of this thread and I've never heard of this guy... but it reminded me of something.

Australia is a test market.

For example... When eBay considered offering only Paypal as a payment option, they tested it on the Aussie website. We cracked the shits so they kept other payment options open but paypal is now a compulsory payment method.

Could it be possible that the censorship of Australian internet is a test for western world?

See how we react before they do it to YOU too?

Sir, I watched the video and DO NOT feel the same way. I agree any footage of war is hard on the eyes and the soul, however the journalist who was killed was consorting with insurgents on that video who were clearly armed. In my opinion this Wikileaks guy is a prostitute for the ant-war / anti-US trolls. Give him some more money and he will keep pimping away. Re: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has passport confiscated
: : ) 959639]
The Australian founder of the whistleblower website Wikileaks had his passport confiscated by police when he arrived in Melbourne last week.

Julian Assange, who does not have an official home base and travels every six weeks, told the Australian current affairs program Dateline that immigration officials had said his passport was going to be canceled because it was looking worn.

However he then received a letter from the Australian Communication Minister Steven Conroy’s office stating that the recent disclosure on Wikileaks of a blacklist of websites the Australian government is preparing to ban had been referred to the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

Last year Wikileaks published a confidential list of websites that the Australian government is preparing to ban under a proposed internet filter – which in turn caused the whistleblower site to be placed on that list.

Mr Assange, 37, told The Age newspaper that half an hour after his passport was returned to him an AFP officer searched one of his bags and questioned him about a previous criminal record for computer hacking offences when he was a teenager.

He was then told his passport status was classified as “normal” on the immigration database

In 1991 Mr Assange, described by Wikileaks as “Australia’s most famous ethical computer hacker”, was charged with 30 offenses over the alleged hacking of police, Telco’s and US military computers. He admitted to 24 charges and was fined and placed on a good behavior bond.

Mr Assange told the Dateline program that Australia is one of a few countries he is wary of traveling in as a result of documents published on the Wikileaks website.

“There are places … Dubai, who is trying to have us arrested, Switzerland under the bank secrecy laws, Cayman Islands,” he said. “Australia had the federal police in relation to its censorship list so there are some jurisdictions that from time to time it wouldn’t be sensible to go there.”

Wikileaks, which publishes anonymously sourced confidential documents from governments and corporations, was launched in January 2007.

The site has since exposed secrets about corruption in Kenya, Nato’s plans for the war in Afghanistan and the operations manual for the US detention centre at Guantanamo Bay.

Last month Wikileaks created international headlines when it published classified US military footage of an American attack helicopter gunning down Iraqi civilians and a Reuters photographer in 2007.

Until recently Mr Assange has kept a very low profile, rarely granting interviews or making public appearances.

He is believed to have boltholes in Iceland, Sweden and Kenya, but does not have an official home base. He says he travels every six weeks, running his Wikileaks empire from a laptop and a backpack while on the road.

So because someone is picked up and then released, they are controlled by TPTB? How about anti-war or enviro watchlist, then taken off? Is that the same?

If you think the US is fucked up be glad you arent an Australian. You can go to prison in Australia for publicly disclosing what the fuckers did to you in the disposition of your divorce. Yup - exposing those sexist pigs masquerading as dispensers of justice will get you in prison.
So be grateful for the US constitution and bill of rights.

They found ARMED peeps, which they were looking for,

determined that the armed peeps had an RPG,

and awaited permission from their command central before firing.

I'm not sure WHAT folks think war is all about, but ^THAT^ is pretty much the epitome of it.

I'm truly sorry that ANYONE had to die like that, but if these reporters and journalists INSIST on mingling with the enemy,

GUESS WHAT???

Chances are, they're going to be MISTAKEN for the enemy!

War is HORRIBLE, folks. LOTS of innocent folks die. That's why we don't WANT to BE AT WAR!
