The thing about meth is that it burns out the dopamine producing centers in the brain. This is one of the main "feel good" chemicals of the body. Once you've burned them out, you will never feel good again, no matter how much meth you smoke. Then you're really screwed - you are mega depressed and there is nothing you can do about it.

The question is: why do so many people need to take something to feel good? Are our lives so bland and unappealing that we have to seek out things to make us feel high and happy.

Yes, it seems a lot of us do. Most people are not at ease with being treated as a sheep and a prisoner, even if they are not aware of it, and look for any escape they can find.

The way to solve the drug problem, is not to deprive the people of them, but to find ways to enhance their existence, so they do not come to rely on them. We could still use well produced drugs, if we cannot achieve a level of contentment without assistance.


Wow, that's a good point. It seems everyone needs a crutch nowadays. I wonder what's wrong with modern life that we can't cope compared to our ancestors who used such things either not at all or in moderation. Drugs have been around for a long time with mankind but way back drugs were only used for ceremonial purposes and not daily.

Maybe it's boredom since life is actually easier now than indigenous people had it. Or maybe it's a defense against the bombardment of so many things in our modern lives.

The modern world, with its insane overemphasis on economics, no longer provides a home for the human spirit.

Could be coke. If they really get bad with meth you may see the skin change in appearance, they will develop the "sores" from scratching (feels like bugs under the skin) and the teeth will eventually get bad because of the blood vessel constriction and the deterioration of the gums.

I don't know if it's true but the methies I used to know said lithium finds its way to the outer surface of the skin. They said it was like picking little pieces of sand out of your skin. And one girl whose boyfriend was doing it heavily said that she was getting some of the lithium in her body just from sleeping with him. Ewww!
