Must be a super-charged filament or a huge far-side flare. This bears watching closely. Hugh M Eye User ID: 24287942 United States 11/08/2012 09:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The GOES X-ray levels peaked at a C 1.0, but someone forgot to re-set the monitor, LOL. Something's been cooking for the last hour or more. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] On the Stereo EUV Heliograph we can see another hot spot near the SE limb (at about 115 degrees east) which will be visible Earth-side in 2-3 days. Also notice how the northern regions are very close to the equator (15 degrees or less) and the southern regions are closer to the 30 degree hash-mark. The one exception is the AR that exploded today (I'm fairly certain). As we see more southern spots form close to the equator, we'll see a crescendo of solar activity. Hopefully. Its not long and we're going to be very busy, glad you're here Hugh! “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
