Yes. This may be a triggered flare. Big Bear solar shows what looks like a few stages to the process.

We just had a more directed X5 which GOES 15 took. I would say bigger than that....

Actually bigger than what it has ever seen.. would be a better guess.

Question..... has SDO/EVE ever had snow like this. I know its common in the coronagraph imaging. Not sure if I've ever seen it there...

This spot was watched very closely, kind of boring until now. I checked its location at least a few times a day.

I would say if this thing appears to be moving 'slower' than other known videos, it is FOR SURE coming for us.
