SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

I put it on my favs so I could keep an eye on it, especially with those dates coming up soon and both EQ's and weird solar activity. Should be interesting to see if history repeats it self again.

Muons are the breakdown of gamma rays, first they break down into pions, then muons, muons can reconfigure other elements, so you can get muon helium, muon hydrogen etc. So I'm not sure how the muon side of the chart could be showing a decrease (like past couple days) when we have had some incoming gamma rays. That was a little perplexing even to S0.

Yeah, if you click that link it gives a chart with the breakdown.

Being that it is a university, I think the data may get twisted a bit.

As of right now, it makes zero sense.

It says on here you can use the chart to get a heads up about an incoming CME, the muon chart when it shows big circles, means a cme is four hours out. This is my laymen's understanding.

Well I think we are in trouble when that CME hits our non existent magnetosphere in 4 hours.

A small, but well-positioned CME is directly Earth-facing from a filament liftoff near mid-disk. Here the filament departs around 10:00z:

Howdy, fellow Mtn Man, we have a slow-rising C-flare from 1665. What concerns me is that a large filament is embedded inside that region. Here's a pic from Big Bear:

Interesting story from Spaceweather.com today-

LOUD SOLAR RADIO BURST: Yesterday, Feb. 2nd, the solar activity forecast called for "quiet." In fact, says amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft, "it was really loud. There were several strong solar radio emissions including one super-strong Type III burst at 1954 UT. I captured it at 28 MHz and 21.1 MHz as it totally drowned out a short wave voice transmission."

I have two problems with this story. First, they identify it with a C2.9 flare from 1667; and secondly, NOAA is supposed to detect and alert us to radio bursts. NOAA gave no Radio Alerts yesterday. I believe this had something to do with that giant slo-mo CME in the high corona above the returning 1654 region. The story claims that there were several waves of radio interference yesterday and hardly think a low C-flare w/o ejecta caused this.

Weird, shows it was a B-flare but we can see it was a C-flare. Anyone else have this glitch showing up?

With the radio burst without explanation and other little glitches going, it is no wonder so many conspiracy theories get started!!! Makes me wonder at times myself.

What with the predominance of CHs and the amount of Filaments/Bits'a'Filament we have currently on old Sol [link to halpha.nso.edu] I think we have a good chance to see a few of them eject.

Some potential for CMEs' on the North-West,North and South-East [link to halpha.nso.edu] the Spot over the East limb is certainly drawing in some!

I need to go hunting around to try and find my Sol Feet as I haven't monitored for a Couple of Days and feel a little lost,I am finding the amount and speed of appearance of the CHs' of particular interest - I think Hughs' slow peeler and their emergence are possibly related.

Time for some hunting.
