The moon and Mars are cool too (mostly for exo-geologists), but these missions have made huge new leaps in knowledge and given the public unprecedented access to a new horizon of awesome discoveries. As I'm prone to be critical of the space agency, they should be applauded when they deserve it.  By way of full disclosure-my desktop image background is a Cassini pic of Saturn, LOL. STEREO, much too my frustration, clears their data stream at 0:00z hrs, everyday. From what I can discern from 2 images is a filament eruption far-side very close to a northern AR. Not earth-directed in the least. The region appears to be 5-7 days away from the limb. Must be a huge event though, the CME looks very substantial...............
