My favorite egg layers are Rhode Island Reds, White Leghorns, Araucunas (Easter egg colored), Bantams, Australorps and Orpingtons. Where do you live AC?

Nope just a city girl here though I did live on my aunt's farm for a year. Not a clue which would be best for your part of the country and yes, that is something to keep in mind when picking. Also, keep the egg shells, crush and feed back to them. They need the calcium to make sure they have strong shells. Keep their coops clean or they get sick. Make their yard something you can rotate, so they can free range. The feed you give them needs to be GMO free or as best as you can find, otherwise you are eating that stuff still. My aunt got a list of hens that were good for the area from her county extension office. You want ones that will do well naturally so that in a SHTF they won't need special care as some of the more exotic breeds do.

That is my limit on chicken knowledge, lol. Oh, on her coup, she had entrances on 3 sides. Only one was open at a time. This is how she allowed for rotation in the chicken yard. One laid fallow, one was growing and the other was the yard the chickens were in.

My dream was to have a small self reliant farm and did lots and lots of reading and dreaming.

My aunt also liked Rhode Islands, White Leghorns and the black and white ones (bantams?) - I didn't know their names. Those do well in Colorado. She wanted to get rid of the Rhode Islands, said they were mean as hornets.

The article never states how they intend to remove the junk, but I did find it ironic that it states China deliberately created a junk cloud and the Russia and US satellite crash in 2009 created two more junk clouds.

What is the proper way to dispose of space junk? Seems they keep pushing it out there, then want to deal with it when it's an issue.

Mankind just keeps making these issues for ourselves. Just like the Bayou Corne sinkhole. There was no farsightedness when they decided to bury the hazardous chemicals deep in the ground.

When will we wake-up, instead of just creating the same mistakes over again? All of our ancestors tried to warn us that history repeats itself. We keep acting like spoiled teenagers thinking we know better.

See all East Coast/Canada quakes and Texas, OK, GA and Missouri (plus Tenn,KY and WS people are saying they are hearing the growling noise and feeling vibrations) I haven't checked those seismic reports yet.
