Exactly. "Don't shove it down my throat" really means "don't exist". It's a sick, genocidal statement. The reality is that straight people never see gay couples holding hands in public, depicted in the media, in magazines, on TV or in advertising in any way, except very rarely, yet gay people get accused of shoving their lifestyle down straight peoples' throats. On the other hand gay people are bombarded with images of hetero happiness from the moment they wake up in the morning on all media, in all advertising, on every TV station, on billboards, on the internet and everywhere. They'd never complain about this because they don't care, and are happy to see depictions of happy families and couples just like everyone else is. Homophobes on the other hand - like those in this thread - have an apoplectic seizure at even the slightest depiction of affection between two gay people. Maybe they should learn to tolerate just the occasional depiction of affection between two gay people?
