Anonymous Coward User ID: 1558314 United States 09/20/2011 02:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let the race riots begin.... There have already been thousands who have vowed revenge if this execution is carried out. Not only in Georgia, but across the country. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1558145 yes, and that is what 'they' want! this is about what 'they' consider retribution for the police officer. once again, they are making an example out of this man, to display their power. This would only stir local riots there, and spawn small ones here or there.. Nothing more. For a race riot, they would have to pull something very very major... A race riot will never happen in USA, civil unrest of ALL people will happen long before that. do u have any clue how many race riots this nation has seen since settlement? your post makes no sense |

The world would be better without this kind of "humanism" where rights are settled by the dollar, instead of personal ethics, and "good" is a term used for gaining. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1558152 I remember when words lost their meaning! Coming from you in Russia that means absolutely garbage. |
Le Palma User ID: 1554198 United States 09/20/2011 03:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Almost a million people signed petitions demanding clemency for Troy Davis, but the statement from the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole today was brief: "The board denied clemency." This is a disgust, the man is innocent. "With 300 rallies, vigils, and other events worldwide, the movement to keep Troy Davis alive has sparked large-scale protests. Thousands of people around the world, marshalled by the NAACP, Amnesty International and Change.org, have joined celebrities like John Legend, Mia Farrow, and Bianca Jagger, as well as notables like Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Pope Benedict XVI in an attempt to convince Georgia authorities to grant clemency to Troy Davis." (cbc.ca) Let the system that refuses clemency of death when petitioned by a circle of peoples fall by the way side and be never more.... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1181275 United States 09/20/2011 03:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is one of the most astute replies I h ave ever seen. This is what we have become, a nation that knowingly murders innocent victims, INNOCENT AMERICANS JUST LIKE YOU AND ME, and we don't stop it because we're too cowardly and we know that the government owns us. When they come to take me to the camp I will die a free man instead right then, because I refuse to be a part of this garbage. Die bravely and die free, it's the only resistance we have left. |

FAKE NATE User ID: 1521133 United States 09/20/2011 03:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really don't understand the reasoning behind all of this, hemming and hawing, by the state. If people did indeed lie underoath, arrest them, retake their statements. Prosecute them for lying underoath, obstruction of justice, and whatever else they can throw at them. They are as at much fault or more that the state is. Then retry Mr.Davis...if he is then found guilty, then his execution is expedited. If Mr.Davis is executed (without a retrial), I'd sue the shit out of the state and those who gave false testimony, for wrongful death. Granted money won't heal or fix an injustice, but it can teach a lesson to the state. If this case is won, then criminal charges should be looked into for every law entity involved in this case. Even if he is guilty of this crime...The entire case was flawed and should be retried. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1532802 United States 09/20/2011 03:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lord... bless Troy Davis with MERCY, REPENTANCE, PEACE and SALVATION on this, the eve of his schedule death by injection.. Let your angels surround him. LORD PLEASE STOP THIS EXECUTION SUPERNATURALLY. Bring PEACE and RECONCILIATION to the family of the victim. Lord, end the scourge of the death penalty in America. In Jesus' name I pray in faith. Amen. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1558308 United States 09/20/2011 03:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "1989, but since the original trial, seven of nine non-police witnesses recanted their testimony," Quoting: jarha Hmmmmmmmm? Should those seven witnesses go to jail? from what I can tell from reading about it, those 7 witnesses were under a lot of police pressure the man may well have been railroaded he needs a stay and this needs to looked at again damn, even the Pope stuck up for the guy, and Georgia just gonna kill him anyway. i hate the death penalty. not in favor of it since I found out that so many innocent folks are executed. read too many survivors of death roll stories about innocent folks who sat on death role for 10, 15, 20 years and then released due to new evidence. death penalty needs to go away. death roll should be reserved only for war criminals (maybe)-- though, life in jail without parole would be a better sentence for a war criminals. |

Is it racially motivated? Is it a change of ideologies? More than likely, and as test studies have shown, your first reaction, or recounting of an event, are the most accurate, it is when time transpires that people begin to second guess themselves, or due to religious or conscious decisions change their testimony to save a life, in the event of a death sentence. |

OutTheLoop User ID: 1558334 United Kingdom 09/20/2011 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | anyone read The Confession, by John Grisham? was my first Grisham book and i liked it a lot. story is about a black guy on death row, in texas. he confessed to a murder, but said it was under duress. the only 'witness' recanted. a day or two before he gets the needle the real murderer turns up, and a desperate race to get in front of a judge for a stay of execution begins. the state governor denies clemency and being a politician he is a prick with two shitty 'advisers'. this governor is planning to run for president, and obstructs the last ditch submission of the new witness testimony. (he has record number of execution for his time in office) the innocent guy does get killed (grisham must have sat in on a couple of 'cutions by the way he tells it) which makes the fallout all the worse for all the shit-cakes that stopped the truth getting out - prosecutor, detective, judge.....and the presidential hopeful Texas governor. i though of this even when i heard of the man that was killed a while back for burning his wife and kids even though new evidence was produced, and how Perry must have been in Grishams mind for his character. Grisham, an ex lawyer and clearly very much against the death penalty is fair in pointing out that the defense team will always be claiming new evidence right up until the execution, will try anything to delay it. so, Troy might be fucked, but so is Perry if it goes like the book. the prisoner is called Donte Drumm, and the real killer was Travis Boyette.....an amalgam of Troy Davis???? You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job, now behave yourself. |

HL Shancken User ID: 1395890 United States 09/20/2011 04:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anyone who believes the word of the condemned murderer and the leftist political organizations masquerading as anti-death penalty/justice groups that this man is not guilty is either him or herself a leftist and, like the leftist political organizations lobbying for clemency, does so for political reasons or, if simply a believer in his innocence, does so based on no credible evidence. In other words, if you support the notion that Troy Davis is innocent, you're either evil or stupid. Remember, there are no guilty men in prison. All of them were railroaded, framed, set up, in the wrong place at the wrong time, victims of mistaken identity, out of the country at the time, have a long lost twin brother who did it, and if only this world weren't so cruel and unjust... Stop defending murderers. Your political cause isn't worthwhile if this is the level you feel you have to stoop to in order to forward it. The rest of you, the stupid among us, well, go cry in your beer. They used to call Troy "RAH." It stands for "Rough As Hell." Pretty soon they can change it to "RIH","Rotting In Hell." OutTheLoop User ID: 1558334 United Kingdom 09/20/2011 04:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | no justice most places, how do they roll in georgia? chair or neeeeeedle. both ways are so fucked, like no-one in Texas owns a gun. if someone needs to die for what they've done, and some do, and once the legal process is exhausted, the next day without any build-up and ritual just put a suitable tool to the head and ,,,,,,,,,,,,, all that last meal, last rites, shave your head (chair), nappy (both), not the actions of a justice system. hanging is better even. or recreational drug overdose. just keep feeding the condemned all the hard shit till they cant take no more. would make the 'final statement's a LOT more interesting.
