I want to know why nobody noticed the wedding ring on Barry's finger in the 1980 pictures. He has never been recorded as being married except to Michelle. That was October 1992. The photos were taken in 1980. Who was Barry "married" to then? One more thing about our President, that is mysterious. He was either married to someone and it wasn't made public, or he was "married" to someone who could not be legally recognized (boyfriend?) He looks cute, but very gay to me, in the college pictures. What man wears a wedding ring, who isn't married?

It's funny cuz while I don't think that photo indicates anything about obama's sexuality, after reading a description from someone who, when trying to find the restroom in a hotel after a conference, accidentally came across obama having sex with a guy------known for being a homo & a member of obama's church in chicago-----in one of the hotel's meeting rooms, I think it's very likely oblabla has performed sex acts with other dudes. he swings both ways, & america should be proud that not only has it elected its first black president, it has elected its first truly bisexual one too.

As I mentioned, I can speak from experience for Brown , that the graduating classes at Ivy League universities are pretty small. If you arrived as a freshman, there were many orientation activities and parties to create cohesion.

If you arrived as a transfer, that group was even smaller and there were mixers and events to help transfers integrate into their class late.

Transfering to an Ivy League school is pretty difficult, by the way. Some of the schools (like Dartmouth) won't even accept transfers. At Brown there were at most 70 transfers, at Yale about 30, and they had to be exceptional students. My sophomore year room mate was a transfer from Smith College, and had a 3.9 plus many activities. Most people who apply to transfer to an Ivy school are turned down, fwiw. I'm surprised that both Obama and his Occidental room mate were both been accepted, given that Occidental hardly registers on the radar of fine educational institutions in this country. They must have had monster grades and SATs

But okay, let's say they both transferred in (and by the way, that Occidental roomie is the only one who came forward - in a NYT article - to claim memory of Barack at Columbia. How come no other transfer remembers him?

Back in the 1980s there were not so many black students in the Ivies (at Dartmouth there were almost none). Intelligent, insightful and well spoken black and minority students would have and did stand out. At most schools they often formed a strong cohesive group. At Brown the Black Student Union was active organizing meetings with alumni, bringing in speakers, and otherwise providing networking opportunities. My husband assures me there was something similar at Columbia. Why wouldn't Obama/Barry have been active with this group, esp if he was a black nationlist?

Why was he not active in either the school paper, the debating society, the student government, or any of the other required activities you needed to be visible in if your goal was to attend Harvard Law School?

Harvard Law isn't something you just roll out of bed and get accepted to. It is the target of every Ivy League pre-law and poli-sci major, never mind all the "little" Ivies and fine state schools from across the country, like Stanford, University of Chicago or private schools like NYU.

In order to be accepted into Harvard Law, you have to have top grades, top scores on your LSATs, top work experience after undergrad and ACTIVITIES.

The kind of grades needed to get into Harvard Law would have meant that Obama (Barry or whatever his name was at the time) would have stood out to teachers, to classmates in Senior discussion groups, to graduate students acting as teaching assistants. Even students whose parents donate buildings don't necessarily get into Harvard Law. Undegraduate is different...there can be a few legacies who are admitted to a great school with lackluster grades simply because their parents were illustrious alumn/rich donors.

Graduate school, however, is where the situation gets more competitive. You can have famous, well known alumn pulling for you, but then again there are thousands of other applicants who also have famous daddies, uncles, godfathers or other protectors pestering admissions officers and offering who knows what incentives to show some love to a specific student.

My senior year room mate was hell bent on Harvard Law. She had started focusing on that goal by the end of Freshman Year. She kept a 4.0 in her major, worked every summer in a law office, her parents were rich and well connected with NY State politics, and yet she didn't make it. It's not a shoe-in.

Sorry to be long winded...I've spent a fair amount of time thinking about this topic, as I have always been active politically, and as said, I personally left the US for Canada in early 2003 in protest against what I saw as the start of what I saw as a the start of a misbegotten war. I spent similar time researching George Bush and tried in vain to warn friends, family and acquaintances against voting for GW again in 2004.

However, this is not a horse race. Just because GWB sucked doesn't make Obama my candidate. Just because the Republicans had a chance to fuck up the country, doesn't mean that now it's the turn of the Democrats.

How about no one screw up the country even more? How about we all go back and re-read Thomas Jefferson and the authors of the Enlightenment who influenced the extremely rare and wise individuals who gathered to create the basis for the US constitution and set the framework for this unique experiment in government?

Probably expecting too much in a period when most voters are functional illiterates and receive their political research in 2 line "tweets" .

As best we can tell, this man was raised in Indonesia and Hawaii, which he considers to be part of Asia. In any case, Hawaii had an extremely different culture in the 1960's than did the continental US. By his own admission, he never set foot on the US mainland until he was 18. Even assuming that what little he tells us about his childhood is true, there is no way he would have absorbed anything "mainstream American" during his childhood.

One day the history of this man will be researched by historians instead of media sychphants. Then perhaps the true story of his past will be laid bare. I'm sure that precious few know the full truth about this man. In any case, he has pulled the biggest sham in history off before the entire world and few seem to care.

Exactly. A white mother and a black child in Hawaii was quite unusual at that time. No neighbors have come forward to claim to have known him. No nurse has come forward to say she remembers an African baby born. There isn't a plaque in one of the two hospitals that we've heard he was born in. You'd think they'd be proud that the (faux) President was born there.

Ever notice that most of the talk about Obama's "family ties" rarely mention his mother? Have you seen the naked pictures she posed for? She was no beauty by any stretch of the imagination. A shady lady with deep communist connections as were her parents they all seemed to be obscure in the mainstream. Obama's daddy is up for grabs too. DNA would sure help with that.

My biggest concern is why Congress and the courts are so resistant to investigating this usurper. They have seen what he has done to this country. How is he able to control all of them and the media?
