Look up LFA SONAR MARINE MAMMAL DEATHS and you will see that since 1999 , these heartless fools have racked up quite a score card. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1304101 United States 01/15/2012 07:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've lived on the Cape for the last 16 years and I can tell you this happens every winter. It goes hand-in-hand with an extreme drop in temperature. Usually happens earlier in the season, around mid-December. It's been an UNUSUALLY WARM winter this year, with an average temperature of 47 degrees- we got our first really cold blast yesterday. Something about the extreme and rapid shift in temperature messes with the part of their brain that controls their sonar, and they end up beaching themselves. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 7592463 United States 01/15/2012 07:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Using LFA sonar for sub hunting is like using a chainsaw to cut butter, the strength is far too intense and unnecessary for that purpose. It does penetrate the Ocean floor tho', and the military DOES use the sonar to hunt subterranean bases of non terrestrial origins, tho' don't expect that to make headline news, or even suppose that the low-level enlisteds who push the buttons as commanded, even have a clue as to what they are doing. Dolphins and Whales help to raise the vibrational frequencies of the Planet and are working with the Earth to assist in the "ascension" process at this time As you could imagine, the bad guys in power whose strangle-hold regimes are coming to an end, aren't too fond of Marine Mammals for this reason.... Anonymous Coward User ID: 8632373 United States 01/15/2012 07:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i pinned it for yah off topic I believe something from the beginning of the month BOSTON (AP) — In an industry where agreement comes slowly, the sudden prospect of huge fishing cuts to protect New England's codfish inspired a quick consensus: Scores of fishermen will be ruined if those cuts are passed. But it's not clear how or if that pain can be avoided, weeks after new scientific numbers indicated cod in the Gulf of Maine is much weaker than thought. "We really haven't heard of something that works right now," said Gib Brogan, of the environmental group Oceana. Fishery science and law present major obstacles to preserving both cod and fishermen. The law requires scientists to set a limit on how hard fishermen can fish for any species. If they exceed it, they're illegally overfishing and regulators are charged with "immediately" stopping it. That means, given the grim new estimate of cod's health, fishermen would have to accept a debilitating cut of about 90 percent in their cod catch next year, and there's little wiggle room to avoid it. Meanwhile, the new data — though attacked from the outset by skeptical fishermen — has survived an initial review, and scientists say it likely won't change much. Several lawmakers, starting with U.S. Sen. John Kerry, are now asking the U.S. Commerce Secretary to order a new assessment of the cod's health in hopes of getting better data, but prospects are uncertain. [link to www.google.com] |
