Cats and Demons
I have a cat at home in England, but not while I've been living here in Malta for the last year. My story is though that last night while I was sleeping I had (and I remember) short nightmares of which I felt my body being pushed down into the bed, I knew what was happening but couldn't move myself (which I've recently heard is a thing called sleep paralysis), however I could make loud groaning noises, so I consciously made these noises to wake myself up. This happened a few times and I was getting very agitated and scared as I do believe in the demonic nature, this stopped however when I heard a cat howling (it was more of a howl than a cry) outside somewhere in the street for a few minutes and then I felt I could sleep after that. I asked my partner beside me what time it was (and I was sorry for waking him up and it was a nightmare) and he said 3:30am, I guessed to myself that this had happened around 3am and was a little more concerned. The last thing to happen was I heard three loud knocks that sounded like it was from our door (we live in an apartment), my partner was talking to me at the time so he didn't hear them (who would be knocking at 3am! and there was no sound of a door opening after, so it couldn't be one of the neighbors). This whole sleep paralysis thing doesn't really make sense in my case as after the first time I woke up but then just getting back to sleep again it happened again... I couldn't have been that quick in getting into REM time and my body shutting down from all movements that quick!

blackcat It's because your a selfish bastard trying to get out of your responsibilities of getting up at 3am to let your cat in or out, as the case may be, by fleeing to another country.

Re: Cats and Demons
There is a reason why Egyptians revered cats. Not only are they able to sense energies, they are also protectors of human life.

Did you know that the so-called "black plague" happened DIRECTLY because of christian demonization of cats? Most people don't know this.

The rats over-ran London because the christian priests/pastors claimed that cats were evil familiars. As a result of this, bubonic plague ran unchecked through many cities because THERE WERE NO CATS TO KILL THE RATS.

Not only this, but there are many, many, many stories of cats reacting when a woman becomes pregnant. It is as if they see the new spirit arriving to occupy the fertilized egg. I have experienced this personally, though I didn't understand why my cat was acting as she was until later.

In ancient Egypt, no home would have even considered being without a cat. Cats were protected... and ancient Egypt did not have bubonic plagues.

So even without the spiritual ability of cats to sense spirits, they are still a creature that every household could benefit from having. They are better than putting fluoride traps or snap traps all over and hoping they catch all of the mice/rats.

Re: Cats and Demons
You are correct in saying it's not normal to go into REM sleep directly upon falling asleep. However, people with narcolepsy do just that! It's part of the disorder. The only time "normal people" (people without narcolepsy) do this is when they are extremely tired or sleep-deprived.

I have narcolepsy and this happens to me all the time. Lately, the sleep paralysis thing has been happening to me several times per week...sometimes several times per night! Gets old after awhile. Not to mention it scares the crap out of me and makes me weary. I sometimes put off going to bed in order to avoid the experience. The best thing for me is when I'm so tired I can't see straight (kinda like now) and then I just sort of pass out, not really caring what I see or experience in my sleep.

Speaking of cats, I get to have my cats after two years of being without them! I am soooo happy! My apartment requires declawing and would not make an exception for me to use Soft Paws nail covers on my cats. I refuse to declaw my cats because I believe it is inhumane!

I called the management company for our building and asked them if they would consider making an exception for me and they said YES! :))) The lady I spoke with had never even heard of Soft Paws. She said she would research it before giving me an answer. She must have liked what she saw!

I am so excited - my two kitties will arrive in a couple of weeks, as soon as I come up with the $300.00 pet deposit. Maybe I will sleep better now too!

Not only that, but I feel like I scored a major victory for cats and cat owners alike!!

Re: Cats and Demons
You are experiencing demonic activity because you've opened a door to them. The enemy of our souls has now claimed "rights" in your life because of dabbling in things that are not pleasing to God. You have to repent and submit your life completely to Christ.
