I know my country has been sliding into a pit of PCness for a long time... but it really seems you guys are either being shoved off a cliff or trying to be no 1 in the race to the bottom.. as yet I can not make up my mind.

I spent years working with Americans all of whom where not only proud of their country but refused to take shit from anyone.. even if that might trading punches with a customs official who over stepped the mark.. and now you guys are bending over backwards..

Why would anyone with a brain want to chant "USA, USA, etc.."? Even years ago before the internet and pertinent information at your fingertips, it seems so juvenile. It's wrong for any perceived authority to ban it, but people need to realize that that kind of ridiculous behavior isn't what made this country great.

It's a matter of waking up to reality. This sports/nationalist mindset has kept the minds of the young in a perpetual state of stupidity. Then they grow up to be stupid adults and rightly viewed as such by the world community.

I completely agree. As I said, authorities have no right to tell them they can't say it. The chanters however would be better suited to come to these conclusions and see how ridiculous it is on their own..

Does anyone say anything if a Mexican wins a Boxing Match. All of the Mexicans start chatting Mexico and waving their flag. So why is that ok, but I can’t chant USA.

These kids chanted that because they are white and the fellow team has minorities. White people view minorities as less than and "white people are the only real americans." Simple as that. So they chose to chant USA to show they are Americans. Open your eyes you fool, or at least accept truth when it's in front of you instead of always wanting to fight it.

Personally, in addition to feeling outrage at the situation, I have sent e-mails to almost everyone on the staff of the high school, condeming them for demanding their students ask forgiveness for feeling American Pride!
