This post was made at the end of page one in this thread; and I think it got lost at the bottom of the page and wasn't seen by many - because I can't believe no one responded to it to correct the misinformed ideas in it. This person who posted this does not understand Christianity. Whereever you got these ideas from, they are incorrect and not based in Christian beliefs.

First of all...the Bible does not say that there will be eternal punishment in hell for all people involved in wars. That is absolutely false. Christ came to die for all and made sacrifice for all sins - yes including killing, murder, and the worst acts you can think of.

Secondly, Christians who truly believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and believe that he came and died as a sacrifice for their sins - those Christians are assured of their salvation. They have the Holy Spirit within them and they know their salvation is assured. This whole idea that they are working to go to heaven by evangelizing is not the reason why they do what the do. Christians evangelize because they want others to know the joy and peace and love that is part of being a child of God. Christian's evangelize to share the assurance of salvation with others.

Christians know that if they believe in Jesus, that there is nothing they can do to separate themselves from going to heaven. They can share this knowledge with others and those who hear the gospel message of Christ and accept it are also assured of their salvation and for their place within the kingdom of God. So Christians aren't wasting time and effort - their knowledge and assurance of salvation is firm. They want to share this knowledge and allow others to receive the same assurance.

Their efforts are not in vain.

The only part in all of this which may be predestined, is that some people may be predestined with spirits that will not and never will accept the message of Christ as Lord. If a person receives and accepts the message, that is indication that they are saved.

Apparently, the ability to say "Jesus is Lord and he died for my sins so that I may have eternal life with God in heaven" is spiritually determined. If you are unable to say that and truly believe it; then your spirit is seperated from God. If you can say it and truly believe it, then you are one of God's and your salvation is assured.

It's sounds strange to our human reasoning minds. That our spoken words and inner beliefs can be that powerful of an indicator of our spiritual condition - but this is spiritual truth from the perspective of a Christian.
