Once the Internet is severely restricted you WILL need a way to find and work with like minded people and have access to info that is not net-connection dependent. Do it now while the resource is there. It may not be there much longer. [link to www.techradar.com] |

AC...994, better get ready to be tread on! Unfortunately, it isn't going to matter whether we are sick and tired of this loss of privacy and rights.. it's already happening! and they will take as much of it away from us as they can. |

We did well in getting the other one annulled so maybe we should try as hard for this one as well . We need to bring as much publicity to this as possible . We need to organize and demonstrate ! Make phone calls to your senators again ! |

The language is so vague that an ISP could use it to monitor communications of subscribers for potential infringement of intellectual property… Quoting: my2centsworth An ISP could even interpret this bill as allowing them to block accounts believed to be infringing, block access to websites like The Pirate Bay believed to carry infringing content, or take other measures provided they claimed it was motivated by cyber security concerns.” [link to video.godlikeproductions.com] I must be doing something wrong, this is the second Youtube video, I haven't been able to embed. Epic Beard Guy User ID: 1079209 United States 04/16/2012 06:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have already written my reps in DC twice about CISPA, and about SOPA so many times they are tired of hearing about it. I recommend everyone do the same. Write them often enough and they will actually give a personal answer. It may not be from your congressman or senator (I don't really know) but a real person in Washington reads it and responds to it. Sending an email is easy and only takes couple of minutes. [link to www.senate.gov] [link to www.house.gov] Please write them NOW! And do it often. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |

Quoting: MDez13 [link to www.pcmag.com] as a web design/dev im not too happy about this bill. Thanks for the link to that article.. for those of you wondering about the article.. here is the last paragraph snipped for you to see. No where near 50% of the original article..for those checking. A copy of the bill is available on the committee website, as is a Q&A about the legislation. It was approved by the panel in December by a vote of 17 to 1, but has not yet been considered by the full House or Senate. Other groups participating in this week's protest include Access Now, American Library Association, Avaaz, Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic, Center for Democracy and Technology, The Constitution Project, Demand Progress, Fight for the Future, Free Press, OpenMedia.ca, Open the Government, Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, Reverse Robo Call, Sunlight Foundation, Techdirt, and TechFreedom. I'm waiting for the day they create a "safe" intranet for everyone and kill the original all together. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2816794 I'm thinking if they do create another internet.. if they haven't already... they won't be inviting the average Joe and Jane in... they will keep it private. Safer that way. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 13663679 United States 04/16/2012 06:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Really ? It has nothing to do with that , it has to do with them taking control of the net and shutting sites down , site just like GLP . they don't care about GLP and the like. they are trying to regulate the market in which there is a drag due to the intellectual rights being infringed upon. you wouldn't want asswipes sharing your shit on the internet when you're trying to get paid. because we have this drag in this market, it directly has an effect on our economy and jobs, because when people illegally obtain products instead of paying, companies lose millions of dollars that could be creating jobs, new technologies, and new industries. |
