question?... what if people give you collective karma to allow a point to be visual ie: fukushima..? is that wrong or punished as well?

What is a collective karma?

Japan is a collective karma.

What is collective karma on GLP?

Did people clump up and give karma on the same post? Face it all your posts are on Japan so your karma would have to be collective right?

kinda my point windy, i guess i didn't articulate it correctly, whilst i hand out karma to the people i know, i also hand out karma to others for their posts so they can 'make them stay alive'... does that make sense?.... i dunno... lol.. it's saturday and beer oçlock... have a lovely weekend btw....

i thought karma was given out to kind people that you liked and such.... i guess there is a line i don't quite understand... now i feel like i can't hand out karma without being baned... so what is the point in the system?.... strange.....

I just took SHR's advice and won't "robo" or cut and paste Karma any more.

I am bummed no more quotes of the week from me anymore, I did enjoy it. So I started a thread instead!

I also quit signing most of what I pass out so it isn’t misconstrued in anyway. Just go hit people up who have good posts, there are plenty of them out there!

Yeah. I'm upset a little myself. It's like I'm living in fear. Will I wake up tomorrow and be banned?

I feel like they made a bad situation way worse and now there's just massive chaos and bannings. It's horrible.

I can't give karma to my friends even if they make a post I like, then when I meet someone new on GLP we end up friending one another and swap karma anyway. *sigh*

I guess I need to "break up" with my old friends and not make any new ones.

I just went to the Gay, GA Cotton Pickin' Fair. I stuffed myself with fried chicken, bought a huge jar of unfiltered comb honey, a carved stone necklace, a wooden duck call, and a funnel cake to bring home to my hubby. I love these old-time southern fairs - even if the sun was too extreme today.

Re: The hang out...
I just want to say I'm really disappointed about the karma situation. YOU are supposed to be able to choose who you give your karma to, who you feel is deserving of it. That's the whole point. While I may have given it to my friends in the green room, it was not just because. You are all great posters, with well-written threads. I really feel like I have benifitted from reading your posts, and that's why I wanted to give you karma. I recently had about 50 of my karma points taken away. I guess I will get introuble for giving you karma, even if it's justified.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Matthew 22: 37-39

"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Galatians 5: 22-23

I really never wanted to talk about this but so many people are getting very upset, so I think I finally need to say a little something.

Mods just want to stop the incestuous nature of you give me one I give you one & no karma goes to anyone else. People were exploiting it to the ump degree. Most of us were not exploiting the system and that is why your still here.

I do not believe we need to be scared of who we give karma to; they just want us to do honestly.

I have people on my friends list who seem to get pinned every other day; they earned that one point a week with their great many posts! There is nothing wrong with that.

When you cut and paste karma and spend all your points in 30 seconds it was obvious what your intent was when the mods see it.

So you see something you like and you give the person karma it is simple and no one needs to feel guilty.

We are also forgetting the real reason karma was implemented and that was to help this site self-police, they need us reporting violations!

They do not want to stalk us and check every karma point we give out and pass judgment on us.

One more thing about this room. This room is a tool so you and I who are like minded can share things, funny things, serious things and important things that ring true to our heart. Use it as the tool it is, we are very lucky we have so many good people gathered together on one thread!

All this karma talk is chasing people away from this tool we have, just be yourself people!

Some people are giving up their subscriptions over this also, we need to quit worrying and get back in to the grove.

It does suck that some are gone and more are choosing to leave over this whole issue.

I do think I stated everything rather well.

Hey OP at least you have a toilet again!

Re: The hang out...
Meh, Karma is the least of my worries. If I get in trouble here at GLP for being nice, well, it's their website and their rules. I can't control what others do - only what I do and I'm not going to stop being nice to the people I like. I'll adhere to the rules to the best of my abilities but to tell us we can't give Karma to our friends is patently ridiculous. I mean, what's the point of even having Karma? They should be thankful they aren't in a situation where the posters are so nasty that all they do is give red karma and snide remarks. I actually think GLP has become a little kinder since they started with the Karma.

Re: The hang out...

This would only be a temporary seat until the end of the year. Elections for this board seat and one occupied one, are in november.
 Quoting: tiger1

I see, when they had a "dropout" for ours, they ended up replacing with someone else that was pre-chosen and he ended up dropping out too and so they made it to the elections without one. If nothing else, you could start preparing for the next one? I tried to convince my husband to set up a site when he distributed flyer/pamphlets, but he didn't. He ran with someone else as well and she got on too. Is that possible for you to do? Thing is, it's 2 to 7? I think the number is now...
 Quoting: Laura Bow

Our school board has 5 seats, one of which is empty due to the death of one of the members. The current empty seat was up for grabs this year in november, along with one more seat.IF I am not successful, I will consider actually running for the seat, instead of just applying for the vacancy that is open now and hope that I get lucky.
Bad thing is, the pay is $2,500 a year for the board seat, and it cost thousands to run a campaign. :(
 Quoting: tiger1

Wow, how different it is here! As far as I know, there is no pay for being on the school board here. I think my husband spent maybe $150? or so to run off flyers. What is all the expenses for to run a campaign? Is it a large school district?
 Quoting: Laura Bow

Good sized city, about 70,000 residents and about 12,000 students. Very expensive to campaign. IF I run in the Fall, I will print up my own flyers. I cannot afford yard signs, and am thinking about making one side of the flyer a window sign, and the other side with my pic and info, qualifications, etc.

p.s. with the rampant banning, karma issues and general assholery going on all over the site, i've made a decision to only get involved in posting and reading news here. no more threads loaded with opinions and arguments of the small- and closed-minded.
