The Bulgarian (OP) User ID: 13376305 Bulgaria 06/09/2012 08:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Arming of Syria rebels gains momentum More significant funds are now coming from Saudi Arabia and Qatar Istanbul: Gulf-backed moves to arm Syria’s opposition are gaining momentum amid growing flows of funds and weapons and a better organisation of deliveries to fighters on the ground. The stepped-up arming of the opposition comes as world powers scramble to find common ground to impose an end to President Bashar Al Assad’s escalating crackdown on a 15-month uprising. According to Syrian activists close to the Free Syrian Army, which has a military council based on the Syrian-Turkish border, brigades of army defectors in rebellious provinces have named representatives who relay the military needs of the fighters and receive weapons. The activists say more significant funds are now coming from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, in addition to a regular flow of donations from Syrian expatriates and some wealthy individuals in Syria. It is like Norfolk VA for the US Navy. What would the US do if it found foreign agents destabilizing Norfolk VA, killing people. Russia has been patient over this. But don't think they are not assembling their counter response, just as soon as they take care of the missile shield. I love my country, be weary of war. |

The people in most of the middle east aren't ready for a democracy because they don't see the advantages and frankly I don't see any other type of government succeeding. The next decades will be marked by civil wars and the falling apart of countries, if we even get to see a couple of more decades.... |
The Bulgarian (OP) User ID: 13376305 Bulgaria 06/09/2012 08:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Russia Underlines Iran's Major Role in Resolving Syrian Crisis TEHRAN (FNA)- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov stressed Iran's vital role and influence in resolving regional issues, and said Tehran as a regional powerhouse should be included in a contact group to put an end to the Syrian crisis. Gatilov said that Russia supports UN-Arab League special envoy Kofi Annan's proposal of setting up an international contact group to bring together key global and regional players to help put an early end to the 16- month Syrian crisis. The senior diplomat noted that such a group should include members of the UN Security Council, as well as regional states, " primarily those bordering Syria and having their own interests in this region". A country like Iran "has a full right" to participate in the process, said Gatilov. "Iran's participation could play a constructive role in searching for solutions to the Syrian conflict," he asserted. [link to english.farsnews.com] |

The next decades will be marked by civil wars and the falling apart of countries, if we even get to see a couple of more decades.... Syria is a VITAL nation for Russian military. Russia can not and will not loose it's alliance with Syria. To start, Russia has a massive naval base their. Among many airbases and other installations. Do not be fooled, this is not Libya or Egypt. The Russians will invade and occupy Syria if they must in order to maintain military strength. ESPECIALLY facing an Iran war coming up, the last thing Russia wants is the loss of military force in that region. And if Russia is forced to occupy Syria, Israel is not that far away and would make a GREAT warm water naval base for Russia. |

Yes, it is democratic, but do you understand, under what ideology, this democracy will be implemented? Do you understand, what this ideology, will mean for the minority, that are NOT Sunni, in Syria? That are many underlying factors at play here, please research a little more. |

The game won't work this time, as somebody else said, Syria is not Libya, it's totally different. Russia won't give up their last military base there, at least not without a fight. And if it comes to that, I hope they kill all those NATO mercernaries aka mujahedeen/jihadists/ciaeda in the process. |

Sorry but watching the Russians speak on Syria in front of UN etc...like Lavrov, who clearly states a third hand is stoking the unrests, would you only believe it if you saw it on CNN, BBC or whatever? Come on...western MSM just shows you what they want you to see, so RT or PressTV might show you the other side and things left out in your Media, what's wrong with that? Btw also Guido Westerwelle from Germany was reported on having spoken against Qatar's involvement and stance and against any military option. That's not being reported anywhere either, funny isn't it? I wonder why they keep saying oh China and Russia are against it, that Germany is making a whole thing warning about a military attack, nobody mentions...except PressTV so far. |

Quoting: The Bulgarian The Russian Foreign Minister has voiced concern about “the reaction on the part of some foreign players”, who, he said, “support armed groups of the opposition and at the same time demand that the international community take decisive steps to change the regime in Syria.” Lavrov reiterated Russia’s position that it will “never agree to sanction the use of force in the UN Security Council”. He said that this would lead “to severe consequences for the entire Middle East region”. A bus carrying Russian experts came under fire in Damascus on Saturday, Sergey Lavrov said.
