Well sorta... im about 90% sure that intervening in a civil war is illegal.


So i doubt NATO will get involved directly.

So what else is new? The been in a civil war for a year now

Yeah, NATO will just arm the rebels. Unless Russia gets directly involved then they may step in.

I saw a newspaper account of it... apparently civilians began storming the convoy and started throwing crap at it, forcing them to retreat

Overthrowing a democratically elected government is illegal, the "rebels" are illegal, and the NATO assistance in the form of guns and meds is definitely illegal.

Nato doesn't care about illegal, it cares about plausible deniability.

Has done already. Fake humanitarian camps and aid have been set up and have been visited and observed as military camps.

Gee, since Hussein Obama took office, this seems to be an almost daily occurrence in the Mideast...

I'm sure this is just a normal civil uprising comprised of folks finally fed up with their current rulers though, and that it has absolutely no ties to the apparent moves of the "Muslim Brotherhood" to dominate the entire Middle East. No way possible....surely all that stuff in Egypt and Libya have no relationship at all to any of this.

I'm also absolutely positive that Obama is too busy playing golf and running our country to be involved in any possible underhanded/illegal regime changes overseas....No way he'd be tied up in anything other than what's best for America, right? I mean, he's been such a consummate advocate of Israel, capitalism, our American constitution, gun rights, the first amendment, the bible, etc., surely he wouldn't intentionally try to further such an illegal, immoral, and corrupt agenda....No way he'd do that!

True, though of course that doesn't mean it won't become something bigger, WW1 started as a war between austria and serbia after all.

As much as people say we shouldn't mettle in the affairs of syria, neither should russia.

So if it's a civil war, an internal conflict, I don't see that the UN has any business trying to tip the scales. They should stay rigorously out and let the Syrians settle on who rules them.

Yup I see it. We're aiding the Saudis in killing off all of the leaders of secular Arab states and turning them into Muslim Arab states.

Still haven't figured out what we get out of this bargain. It sure isn't cheap oil, utility and food prices.

UN calls it a civil war simply because they want to play their next card... Arming the Muslim brotherhood... and so omit their own embargo...

Can someone tell me who in the UN said Syria is in civil war???

BTW what is happening now in SYRIA is a plot from the outside and is directed by the turks, for the restoration of their Ottoman empire... but that the rest of the world fails to see...

and a civil war would mean a war between civilians of that country ? not insurgents, the whole deals as fukd up as the rest of the planet.

Russia and China will/would block NATO intervention, but did anyone ever consider Arab League intervention?

If that happens, it will be WW3, as it will also bring Iran into the fray.
