No, my husband works a job that does NOT have benefits, so NONE of us have coverage, but we make BARELY enough to just NOT QUALIFY for government benefits.

We DON'T have a fucking TV.

And we SHARE one car for the whole family.

This means that my husband uses the car to go to work, except on days that I have to take our newborn to doctors appointments, then I take him to work and drop him off.

Don't fucking lecture me on household luxuries. We can barely afford our monthly bills, which are as follows: RENT, UTILITIES, CAR INSURANCE, MEDICAL BILLS. The only fucking "luxury" we have is our phone bill and internet.

If we were any poorer, we actually WOULD be able to get benefits from the government!! As of now...we are going to have to shell out MORE to the government when we are barely making ends meet. So fuck off.

I don't think you put enough effort into this. There are tons of other programs besides medicaid. Where are you from? I'll help you out. I don't have any type of benefit but only have to pay $20 a month for full dental coverage and only $63 for anything medical wise that does not include cancer.

You need to drop your current medical and opt into a program that does a community paid benefit. Meaning people who pay out of pocket and not paid for by taxes. A single fee everyone has to pay, regardless if it cost that much to be told if you have the flu or not, any extra $$ from the previous person gets moved to the next person.

Yes, the people who make less than us DO get better benefits than us (which is none), because they fall below the cutoff to qualify for services.

It is the people who are barely above the cutoff (such as myself and many others) who will suffer the most in this regard. Those who can't afford an added expense who are being forced into paying this additional *tax*

Not sure what you're not getting here...we don't HAVE current medical. That's the point. The reason we don't is because we can't afford it. And now we will have to pay this additional monthly tax.

What about vets with VA benefits?

Thank you for playing into my make believe story. Now people know why they should be pissed off instead of being pissed off because everyone else is.

People without medical still have to pay the taxes for it, which can be more then what they pay for their own medical if they have it.

Yeah. A word to all vets. Don't go to the VA because they will just milk you even when you don't have to pay. And even if nothing is wrong with you they will make it so something is wrong with you.

1. A small business that has over fifty employees gets a tax credit for insuring his employees.
2. The option for someone who works where no benefits are offered (a business less than fifty employees, for instance) can buy insurance through an exchange (or pool of insurance companies that share the risk) run by the state where they live.
3. The cost of insurance is subsidized by the Federal Government.
4. Medicaid is supposed to expand to include people above the poverty line, but the Supreme Court decision today said that states could opt out of that program.

So, there's really no reason to not have insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
Unfortunately, however, all elements of the plan will not be fully implemented until Jan., 2014.

I bought an Obamacare Calculator at Office Depot today. It was $79.95 plus tax and I couldn't wait to take it home.

When I got home, I realized it only had a gigantic plus button (that looks like a + for the uninitiated) and just . . . couldn't stop staring at the symbol.

I typed in a 2. Then a 9. Then hit the plus (+). When I did that I noticed that whatever Chinese jerk made it decided that they should make the bottom part of the + slightly longer than the top part and that calculator wasn't just broken, it was SATANIC.

Immediately, the devil tempted me.

He showed up in a sulfur cloud and said "EXCUSE ME MR WANNA BE HEALTHY AT HALF THE COST" and I cowered in the corner but that doesn't matter, because I would have cowered if he said "YOU HAVE GREAT SHOES" but in this case I just knew he was right . . . the hell with health, I want god.

China then nuked some remote town in Idaho in retaliation (because that's where the food stockpiles live) and I freaked out so hard that I went back to my calculator repeatedly hitting the MINUS MINUS MINUS (- - -) and lo and behold, I actually got a refund for the first time in years. Take that OBUMMER!

I am assuming here that you would meet the minimums (just a funny feeling!) - so would you pay $95 a year in 2014 for full health care if it was put on your tax return rather than pay $95 a week to make some Blue Cross CEO rich? You do have that choice!
