Roll-your-own cigarette shops forced out of business by Obama and Big Tobacco

I know, my cousin had to shut down 2 of her shops because of Phillip Morris and Max Baucus's transportation bill. What Jagoffs.

Yep, big tobacco is not happy with the roll yer owns.

It's ridiculous.

But just remember, Obama is for the middle class.

I'm surprised he doesn't justs hunt down smokers and shoot them with his drones. . .

He doesn't want them to quit. He smokes. He wants their $$$.

They're not shutting them down by design. They're closing tax loopholes. . Roll your owns still cause the same problems as regular tobacco. Make no mistake still big tabacco at work.

Time to finally quit I geuss. I've been rolling my own for years. Started when I did turbine work on the East coast 4 1/2 years ago. Fuggin carton was $65.......
Not only that but they had the friggen fire chemicals in the paper, tastes like shit (yes I know smells like shit, breath smells like shit etc etc).
They raised price of big bags of $15 hand rolling tobacco I think last year by $10, became $25 for a bag, almost double. I started using pipe tobacco, longer cut, moister. Didn't get a tax increase on that, still $15. I use a halogen light to dry it out, crumble it till it's just right for rolling.
Costs me about $25 a month.
Instead of $40-$70 peer week for a carton.

There are a lot of roll your own tobaccos with a Pipe Tobacco label.

They actually fit in the tubes better than a shorter cut.

I'll close a tax loophole, I'll grow my own.

And make my own fuel. Grow my own food.
Outlaw it? Sure, come on out and try to enforce it.

Special blend Marlboros are 35$ a carton here after tax. But if I read it right, it just taxes the machines. You can still buy loose tabacco and roll your own by hand.

RYO cigarettes were a way to avoid all the added chemicals in regular cigarettes...

My aunt rolls her own since she can't afford the Big Tobacco brands. Guess she'll have to switch to the e-smokes or finally quit.

When I smoked, I smoked Camels. Didn't quit for health reasons or because I stopped loving my cigs - I quit because at $7/pack, I simply couldn't afford them. I miss my smokes sometimes, but I'm glad I kicked it - can't smoke anywhere but your own car/yard nowadays anyway.

Don't get me wrong. I wish we would close the loopholes these big corps are getting. Just our corrupt gov at work.

State and local governments have been trying to close the loophole as well, with Cook County raising taxes on RYO cigs in March and Illinois increasing the taxes on them last month, when the state sharply raised taxes on all tobacco products to help fund Medicaid. Starting Aug. 1, cigarettes made by RYO machines in Illinois stores will be taxed the same amount as company-manufactured cigarettes, and retail owners of the machines have to get a machine-operator license.

Tax payers gotta pay for smokers' habits. Hell I smoke and think this should be implemented.

According to other sources, shops will close at midnight tonight - so more local regulation or taxes are moot...
