I've known him for 25 years and he's always got a job. He has never applied for a job and been turned down. Usually, in a year or two they find out about him and fire him. The last job he had he actually got a letter apologizing for firing him but said he was bad for the company image, they said they would highly recommend him if he needed references! WTF. |

Quoting: Northman Very few companies give bad references. Generally, they'll just give the dates of your employment. Bad reference opens them up to lawsuits. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1184364 United States 07/09/2012 10:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah right. Quoting: Tuff~Kooky The republican governors are more concerned about war-mongering foreign policy, not jobs. With the exception of Ron Paul of course.... State Governors don't typically care about 'war mongering' or even much at all when it comes to foreign policy...they govern at the state level. You're thinking of the President, who over the last 3.5 years, would be Obama...you know the guy who not only didn't get us out of the middle-east, but escalated our presence there. Be a slave (or worker with pay and benefits) to a company 2. Be a slave (with shitty benefits and pay) to the government One of those choices you can back out of....one you can't (unless you start a revolution) Choose wisely, grasshopper! |

Gosh, people have internet access and are too fucking lazy to become informed as to just how the unemployment rate is calculated. How is the unemployment rate related to unemployment insurance claims? Some people think that to get these figures on unemployment the Government uses the number of persons filing claims for unemployment insurance (UI) benefits under State or Federal Government programs. But some people are still jobless when their benefits run out, and many more are not eligible at all or delay or never apply for benefits. So, quite clearly, UI information cannot be used as a source for complete information on the number of unemployed. The number of unemployed persons in the United States and the national unemployment rate are produced from data collected in the Current Population Survey (CPS), a monthly survey of over 60,000 households. A person's unemployment status is established by responses to a series of questions on whether they have a job or are on layoff, whether they want a job and are available to work, and what they have done to look for work in the preceding 4 weeks. The unemployment rate is the number of unemployed persons as a percent of the labor force (employed and unemployed persons). See "Who is counted as unemployed?" for more information.
