We are having a huge spike in tourism here in Montana
and tho I don't know the exact number for THIS YEAR....
LAST YEAR there were over 600 homeless families camping in the hills and mountains around our city (sorry can't say--I'm private that way! lol!)...So, yes...I think it has begun--definitely. We and a few friends moved to this area back in 2006 due to the info that came out early-on on related topics to Matrix's thread. Just a heads up to people doing their 'BUG OUT'to the Pacific Northwest states....the ECONOMY HERE SUCKS! There are just no jobs and even though the tourist related business are making it (barely) if you are considering a move--PLEASE use some common sense...especially with children and pets.
Don't plan to be camping out in tents and hoping to get a job at McDonald's to get you by until you can land a job and normalize (that's how me & my hubby did it in Oregon years ago and it worked out for us....I had a baby and it was very very stressful.) Such moves are NOT for the weak hearted and certainly EVERYTHING YOU DO NOW--do to the economy, the weather, changing economics needs to be considered very cautiously.
I think that THE LUCAS FACTOR HERE is just incredible....I respect this director very much and I don't think that he would put his reputation on the line to come out with his support that "something's up, guys!"
