Quoting: Anonymous Coward 433293 Searing heat in the Heartland: Oklahoma’s hottest day ever? The intense mid-continent heat ridge is presently stalled over Oklahoma and southern Kansas - where it’s also exceptionally dry. On Tuesday, this heat dome or “dome of drought” led to triple digit readings throughout Oklahoma’s entire “mesonet” of 120 weather stations for only the 4th time on record (since 1997). It’s a similar story in Tulsa. The National Weather Service said Tulsa had its hottest all-time average temperature Tuesday and has a chance to match its all-time record high of 115 today The recent round of extreme heat is just a year removed from Oklahoma’s hottest July on record in 2011. That proved to not only be the hottest month in state history, but also the hottest month experienced in any U.S. state since records began in 1895. [link to www.washingtonpost.com] |

Quoting: Muzzle 3 out of approx. 30 showed a HEAT index of 120. Corrected. 3 not 4. Whoops! You are correct, the heat index. And I think 4, not3. But those are all near real-time numbers. Wonder what it looked like 3 hours ago? One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. KungPowMeowMeow User ID: 11092695 United States 08/01/2012 11:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.weather.com] It was over 100 degrees in 10 states today, not just Oklahoma. And the Weather Channel only showed it getting up to 112 in Tulsa with a heat idex of 114. So very low humidity. Be thankful for that. It could've been a whole lot worse. And think about how poor Miggy felt before she got airconditioning this week! You can't complain about the heat unless you have no a/c at home or at work. If you sit on your ass inside all day and are only outside while walking to your car, you're just a whiner. This time of year my workplace can get up to 100 degrees for hours at a time and I still have to do very physical work AND have a smile on my face during my 72 hr work week. I went all last summer without a/c at home with 42 days over 100. Just think how the pioneers bucked up and worked in long pants and dresses in the heat! This is how God thins the heard!!!
