The air strikes on positions in the town of Sheikh Zouaid followed the deaths of 16 border guards last Sunday in an attack blamed partly on Palestinian militants.

The incident marks the first time the Egyptian Air Force has been called into action in Sinai since 1973. As per peace agreements, Egyptian Air Force activity in Sinai must be coordinated with Israel.

They have a Political Party, but we have no Parliament, they're not ruling, they have no way to make decisions or tell the Military something. The Military here doesn't take orders from nobody! There IS a foreign hand in it, money is needed for this, coordinated attacks, we had simoultaneous attacks on 7 checkpoints in Sinai yesterday. This takes precise operations, intelligence gathering etc...Best thing Morsi did is to sack the Officials who imo are being paid off and kept saying there's no threats in Sinai.

As the president is unable to change the members of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), SCAF head Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi fired Major General Hamdy Badeen from his position as the commander of Egypt's military police. Badeen's replacement has yet to be announced.

There was also a major reorganisation of the Ministry of Interior police posts. According to state-run Nile News TV channel, Morsi has appointed Major General Hamed Zaky as the head of Republican Guards and Major General Maged Mostafa Kamel as the head of Egypt's Central Security Forces.

These are the right steps finally, go after the terrorists but also go after the OFFICIALS who are corrupt...Tantawi fired one of his Generals today, that should tell you something.
We, our Government, the President and SCAF do not want a war nor do we tolerate this type of violence or terrorists. Sinai will now be cleared, and watch for arrests and maybe more sacking of Officials.
Note: Israel warned Thursday for all their citizens to leave Sinai, Egypt Intelligence had knowledge too. But seems there's some who always choose to look the other way, get paid off or are involved. Who benefits and follow the money. That's all you have to look for to find who is behind it and stop it.

Seems some of you have not kept up with our internal political changes and who's in Power, so maybe that will clear some things up for you.

AP - Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi fired his intelligence chief and the governor of Northern Sinai on Wednesday following a weekend attack by suspected militants in Sinai who killed 16 soldiers.

In a major shake-up, Morsi also asked Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi to replace the commander of the military police, a force that has been heavily used since the ouster 18 months ago of Hosni Mubarak to deal with street protests. Rights activists have accused the military police of brutality against protesters.

Morsi also fired the commander of the presidential guards and ordered new chiefs for security in Cairo and the police’s large central security, a large paramilitary force often deployed to deal with riots.




The generals who took over from Mubarak and ruled Egypt for 17 months stripped the presidency of many of its powers just before Morsi was declared the election winner and they retained those powers for themselves.

However, Wednesday’s decisions were taken following a meeting of the National Defense Council which includes Morsi, top army commanders and senior intelligence officials. The decision-making at that meeting reflects a level of cooperation between the president, a longtime leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the powerful generals in the face of rising tensions.

Military officers outnumber civilians on the newly created council, which takes decisions by a simple majority. That means that the powerful generals were on board for all the decisions made Wednesday.
