Any Seventh Day Adventists???
I was talking to my mum one day & she said something to me that piqued my interest concerning the prophet Ellen G White.

My son had been telling her about the govt (schools) turning on the camera's in the school handout laptops so they could see what the students were doing, where they were etc.

Her stepmother (knickname - Chicken Hawk) used to preach ALL the time but then as mum said the things that stood out were happening now -

one day the govt will be able to keep watch over people in the privacy of their own homes without them knowing by electronic devices.

one day there will be NO small businesses, only one major chain store (maybe Walmart??)

everyone will be required to wear the devils number (micro-chipped)

I'm just wondering if there is anywhere that all these 'prophesies' are listed in one place? I have googled but not found anything direct, it's mostly just about the church & their beliefs.

On a side note I did read that alot of modern day 'prophesies' are from SDA's anonymously putting it out there into cyber world.

Can anyone point me to a list of her prophesies??? TIA

True. If she was a prophet then nothing she said should have been wrong. But many of her 'prophecies' were wrong. All it takes is one wrong prophecy but she had more than that.

Ellen White made no prophecies that i'm aware of. She just put out books as a Bible commentator. They call her a prophet for some unknown reason.

Wasnt really a prophecy. She and others were reading the Bible setting dates as they understood it. They were certainly wrong. And they may even have misled the masses about a few doctrine. But the majority of SDA theology is spot on with the Bible.

A visionary??? I agree though she never said she was a prophet as far as I can see so far

Ellen White experienced a vision at this time, her first of many. This vision was a great encouragement to the Advent believers, for it affirmed their belief in the imminent return of Christ

Ellen G. White was not a false prophet.

She met all of the tests of a true prophet of the Lord.

One only has to read the writings that God inspired her to write to know that she was called by God for such a
purpose.

Three of the most helpful books she wrote are:

Steps to Christ

[link to www.whiteestate.org]

The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan

[link to www.whiteestate.org]

The Desire of Ages: The Conflict of the Ages Illustrated in the Life of Christ

[link to www.whiteestate.org]

Each book can be read free of charge online at the link provided beneath each title.

GLPers may be interested to know that on April 16th and April 17th of 1906 Ellen G. White was given two visions that were both related to the Great Earthquake that was to hit San Francisco on April 18th 1906.

The first vision was primarily showing her the extent of the destruction that was to befall a large modern city with a Great Earthquake.

The second vision dealt more with the reasoning behind why a Great Earthquake was to occur.

Her description of the two visions was published in the next issue of The Review and Herald magazine and is available to read at this link.

New York Skyscrapers Burn

But I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only that I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God's power. From the light given me, I know that destruction is in the world. One word from the Lord, one touch of his mighty power, and these massive structures will fall. Scenes will take place the fearfulness of which we cannot imagine.—Review and Herald, July 5, 1906, emphasis supplied.

I'm going to be controversial here. I think this is a simplistic way of approaching prophecies.

Jonah prophecied Ninevah would be destroyed. It was not.

Isaiah prophesied that Hezekiah would die. He did not.

It was prophesied that King Josiah would die in peace. He did not.

I think there's a bigger picture here.

I think the Adventists are the closest theology to the Bible. A lot of things were changed with the Catholic church like Sunday worship that aren't a part of the Bible.

However, Ellen White plagiarized quite a bit. She also suffered a head injury like someone mentioned previously and this is what lead to her many "visions".

I'll give her one thing, her stance on vegetarianism is spot on. Adventists live the longest of any other group of people due in a large part to their vegetarianism. However, this thought was popular with other groups of people during Ellen White's time. Some people claim she simply adopted it from that influence rather than from any visions.

First the question is: Any Seventh Day Adventists???

Second: SDA teaches and reads from the bible, they may quote White in reference to a subject but that is occassionally, they are more likely to quote Paul or Jesus.

Third: I'm a friend of the church

Re: Any Seventh Day Adventists???
I dont think predicting an earthquake is a prophecy like we see in the bible, if she actually did such a thing in the first place. Hard to say at this point.

Ellen white was just a bible commentator. I'm not even sure she wrote those books. But they did depart from previous teachings such as that the Revelation chapter 10 is about the Protestant Reformation. Thru one of her quack visions i.e. Jesuit inspired deceptions decided to change this established Bible truth to chapter 10 being about SDA and 1844. That just does not fit between chapters 9 & 11.
