You are right. And it also May have more Meanings and causes also. Many Layers usually With god.
 Quoting:

Wow, thank you Switzerland. So you tend to think this could be one of the reasons. It is a signal sign, isn't it, that 'strong smell of Sulphur' (as in SMELL OF, not really sulphur, which is a natural smell, of a mineral, that is good for you, and needed for skin, bones, ligaments, connective tissue especially, and is yellow) but something 'like' sulphur, or 'a stench' which so many hundreds of people or thousands, have described to the best of their ability, 'as the smell of ... 'sulphur'.. but not exactly. Something like one of the posters above, who said,
it was a 'strong and unnaturally thick' smell, (which they first thought was skunk). That is how people describe BigFoot when they have an encounter with them in the woods, usually on the West Coast forests in America, 'a strong stench' or 'a strong overpowering smell of sulphur' is how they try to explain it.

Thank you Swiss family!

I don't know if it's related, but I know that around Dundee there is a strong odor on Route 23.
 Quoting: Cyanne

Good morning, can you describe the odor? Was it a burnt match smell or something different?
 Quoting: siniXster

It's not a burnt match smell or burnt wood smell. It's more rotten egg/foul smelling.
 Quoting: Cyanne

See, like this person describes, it is not just like a clean smell of sulphur. A rotten, odiferous foul stench is what they try to convey by using the word sulphur. Very overpowering. That is a signal of a demon who is malicious.

I like the smell of burnt matches. It is a clean smell. This they describe is totally different. (what is that match chemical?)

Re: Major Geological Event possibly happening in Michigan...important information inside, updates as they come in.
yesterday (Iam the one who posted about going to the river, seeing the long (30 feet at least) line of 8-10 ants (red ones) marching on the rock shore (never saw this, no dead bodies) when Icame here to Godlike and then, saw this thread about ant behaviour, - after the bad experience at the river the next day (had to leave quickly, it was an oppressive feeling for no known reason) I was thinking about all of this, last night, and it finally came to me why I think that it felt so bad there. There were I think, NO BIRDS. i THINK that was the reason that I felt it was so weird, and dark, and horrible feeling. But it was not just that, I felt that it was foreboding. So after making myself stay a few minutes, saying, 'ah, it's nothing... come on...' and yet, i had to follow this gut feeling of 'get out of here!' quickly and just left, (which is to me who will do many things to swim, like heresy).

Those ants never were there before doing that. Like an army.

And, next day, bad feel to the place, usually good feel, always. Something was there, I felt. and, the birds, nothing, nobody was chirping or flying, or there - at all.

8-10 ants or more in thickness let's see, more exact, the width of the 30-ft line was : almost an inch, at least 3/4 of an inch thick. On a definite large mission!

The smell of sulphur can come from undergound springs. It's produced by anaerobic bacteria. When the water reaches the surface, the distinctive smell is released. This odor in Michigan could be from water seeping upward and being released. What would cause this to occur in so many locations at once? Has something affected the water tables in Michigan's aquifers?

Out for most of the day, smelled sulfur in various places, talked to people on the ground, scanned the thread again and came to the following assessments:

There have been too many accounts of people here smelling natural gas (METHANE smells like rotten eggs) to not look at it as part of the puzzle. Taking into account my recent research into methane releases (sinkholes fit here as well) increasing world wide and the crustal disposition of frozen methane on a planetary scale, it seems that this ties in nicely with the sulfur dioxide releases. If indeed we are dealing with plumes in the area and not some random, ongoing, man-made accident then my theory on all this relating to a major geological change and possibly an event is starting to carry more weight, for me that is.

I'm not going to list a bunch of links, you all need to do this research for yourselves. There's tons of information to reference, look at the big picture and come to your own conclusions. There are two threads in my signature box to reference and here's a 3 x 5 card of the story problem:

Solar Maximum
+
Earth expanding x27 miles and her orbit slowing by 24secs
+
Glacial melting and Post Glacial rebound
+
Worldwide increase in EQ's and Volcanic activity
+
Massive sinkholes opening worldwide
+
Major increase in Methane releases worldwide
+
Animals and insects behaving strangely
+
Sulfur Plumes (hard data and confirmation pending)
=
???

No to hard to connect the dots here and see that all of the different threads on GLP about these events can be tied together perfectly creating a picture of a Major Geological Upheaval that may be right around the corner, 1 second to midnight scenario in my eyes. I used to feel Michigan was pretty safe considering location and geological history however the last few days have changed my mind.

I should have the answers we need on the possible sulfur plumes from Scott by tomorrow afternoon, this intel will have a significant impact on my theory should it be confirmed.

It is worth noting that Dr. Steve Horton has been quoted by The Examiner in recent articles about the Louisiana sinkhole. Dr. Horton is a research scientist for CERI. Your first post on this thread linked to CERI, siniXster. Maybe he could answer some of your questions.

Someone in this thread mentioned snails. This reminded me of some other snails:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

The hot springs are running dry, and it's heated tap water you get now in the winter months:

[link to www.cbc.ca]

It could be a coincidence, but it is my observation that this situation got worse after Mount St. Helen's erupted in 1980. Not all the mountain hot springs were affected to the same extent. Can't find any scientific studies to prove that it's related or not.

Now skip ahead to summer 2012, and a landslide at a hot spring resort:

[link to www.cbc.ca]

Not far down the road is a gypsum mine, steadily trucking gypsum away for use in the construction industry. Not saying this is the cause of the landslide or in any way related. However, gypsum is formed in karsts. Karsts are unstable: limestone corroded by rain, which is naturally acidic.

It is a curious thing to see the mountain hot springs in Canada dwindle away after Mount St. Helen's erupted. Could be a coincidence. Did the hot springs in Canada increase their volume before Mount St. Helen's blew? Wish I knew.

What could produce the opposite reaction and force water from underground springs upward, then? Did you get abnormally high precipitation this spring, as did the Canadian hot spring area that had the landslide?

And guess who has studied Mount St. Helen's as well as the North American craton? Not me, a research scientist.

Banff's well-known Upper Hot Springs pool has to be filled with tap water in the winter, and scientists don't know why the natural supply is drying up.

Parks Canada has been using municipal water to fill the pool during the winter at the 1930s era bathhouse for more than a decade.

Your definitely barking up the right tree IMO, these systems are all connected and with the new activity under our feet here it's starting to paint a pretty ugly picture.

Linked article substantiating your input on the lowering of water tables and a vid with interesting intel on karsts and salt domes that are being affected.

A friend of mine in NY woke up to this today:

Definitely in a major drought........when a creek stops dead for the first time in the 30 years. I've owned this land and a one thousand gallon spring tank goes dry it's time to do a rain dance......if there's no water I guess there's always beer......

Not sure I want to break it to him that it may not be drought related...

Something else for consideration...

3 nuke plants in the past 2 weeks have had significant groundwater contamination from tritium, which usually occurs when pipes leak under the plant. There was a famous case at Vermont Yankee a few years ago where execs for the plant were caught lying under oath about the pipes breaking underground.

Apparently this has been going on since December in Louisiana at River Bend nuclear generating station. And its gotten much worse.

Tritium detected from groundwater wells in December measured 20,000 picocuries per liter (the amount they must report at)
The same well tested Aug 7 showed the level of contamination is now 432,000 pico/l and they are digging more wells to determine the source.
On a map, River Bend is directly north of the sinkhole in Louisiana. Keep going north and you hit the New Madrid.

But thats not the only plant...
Tritium measured in groundwater at Nine Mile point nuke plant on 8/14
Tritium measured in drains of wells at Surry nuke plant in Virginia also on 8/14
This is around the time people started noticing the smells.

Did ground movement precipitate the leaks under the plants? Tritium leaks underground don't happen often, we had two though on the same day...and a major one starting a few months ago which is getting worse.

In addition, there are 15 other plants that have shut down or had major problems that could lead to critical failure in the past TWO WEEKS.

The list is extensive and can be found at:

This event could very well signify a large increase in Sulfur Dioxide in the air over Lk Michigan. Thank you for the heads-up!

Volcanoes are fissures within the Earth's crust that are connected to the Earth's Mantle layer, capable of erupting high quantities of magma and lava into the Earth's surface[18]. During the duration of such events, volcanoes can often release high amounts of ash particles and sulfur atoms into the atmosphere. Ash particles, containing less mass than the air within the atmosphere, stay afloat for long varying duration before falling down, while the sulfur atoms mix with the oxygen molecules within the atmosphere, forming sulfur dioxide. These ash particles and sulfur dioxide, with their density can block the Sun's radiation and keep them from penetrating and reaching the Earth's crust. With less or no radiation, surface and atmospheric temperatures will decrease dramatically. Without radiation, updrafts of warm air currents are unable to form, thus severe weather phenomena of hurricanes, tornadoes, waterspouts, thunderstorms, or any other weather phenomena requiring the presence of updrafts would be unable to develop. Precipitation in the form of acid rain have a possibility to develop[19], as the sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere can form compounds with the water molecules in the air.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Waterspouts, in contrast, are attached to cumulus clouds that normally top out at 18,000 or 20,000 feet/5,486 or 6,096 m. Sometimes a waterspout’s parent cloud might produce a few lightning bolts, but often there’s no lightning. The heat energy of water vapor condensing to form the cloud supplies most of the energy that powers waterspouts. They don’t have the energy of high-altitude winds to draw on as strong tornadoes do.

[link to www.dtmag.com]

When rain forms around certain types of pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, the CCN react with water to make the rain acidic. This is called acid rain. Acid can harm plants, aquatic animals like fish and frogs, and the soil. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide can be released into the atmosphere naturally, such as through a volcanic eruption.
