Quoting: SkinnyChic Well I really would suggest northern Thailand as an option. 19 degree so good growing seasons with lots of wild food for consumption. Good supply of water. Thailand has an abundance of food production. One of the major exporters in this regard. I am surround by farm land for as far as I can see except for a small village about 1 kilo meter away. I can just make it out. I have put in a 1/2 acre pond and have stocked it with fish as well. Visa can be a bit of a probleem for long terms stays unless your over 50, then you can easily get a retirement visa. I originally got a business visa which was not a bad way to go. Just have to pay a tax every year. Land is about 30,000 an acre in the area I'm in. But if you get out a little further it gets a lot cheaper. We bought some for about 1000 an acre in a really remote area. sk How about the flooding in your area sk? Beautiful country but it is a concern as of late. |

No, flooding where I am at. just don't camp by one of the big rivers or in low lying areas. We got a lot of rain last year and things were soggy, but no flooding and I have rice paddies all around me. Down south is where most of the flooding occurred. Bangkok and south of there. What a pit. Very low lying area. Its actually sinking much like LA. |

They were 200 percent cheaper 5 years ago when I bought. There is a really kool cave that goes back under a mountain for about 1/2 mi not far away. So in the event of solar problems it could be a good refuge, short term. sk |

When the pain of staying where your at becomes greater than the pain of facing yourself and growing and healing, than we allow change, until then we grow complacent with where we are at. Venting will begin after 05:00 tomorrow and will occur on days for the next 4-5 days. - The new computer system at UCAR is being tuned and tested. R. 6566 To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide guidance and coordination for mass fatality planning, and for other purposes. IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES September 28, 2012 A BILL To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide guidance and coordination for mass fatality planning, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ‘Mass Fatality Planning and Religious Considerations Act’. SEC. 2. FINDINGS. Congress finds the following: (1) Emergency preparedness often plans for how to prepare and provide for survivors of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster, but fails to plan for how to prepare for and respond to mass fatalities that result from such an incident. (2) Funeral homes, cemeteries, and mortuaries could be overwhelmed should mass fatalities arise from a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster. (3) Different religions have different customs surrounding death; for example, the Jewish and Muslim religions call for burial of the deceased not later than 48 hours after death. SEC. 3. PREPAREDNESS FOR MASS FATALITIES RESULTING FROM A NATURAL DISASTER, ACT OF TERRORISM, OR OTHER MAN-MADE DISASTER. Section 504 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 314) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: ‘(c) Preparedness for Mass Fatalities- In carrying out this section, the Administrator shall provide guidance to and coordinate with appropriate individuals, including representatives from different communities, private sector businesses, non-profit organizations, and religious organizations, to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster that results in mass fatalities.’. |

Has anyone mentioned or researched the phrase "Let the reader understand"? I did a google search and a bunch of stuff on the bible came up. This is what I found: [link to www.patheos.com] ...Backing up a few verses to look at the preceding context for this week’s Gospel Lesson (Mark 13:24-37), in Mark 13:14 the Gospel writer makes a curious aside: “But when you see the desolating sacrilege set up where it ought not to be (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.” I am fascinated that Mark did not place his hopes in his audience reading between the lines. He, instead, explicitly inscribed a parenthetical reference “(let the reader understand)” into the text as a flashing neon sign that says, “READ BETWEEN THE LINES!” Mark meant, “I’m saying something about the unjust Roman occupation of the Jewish homeland.” When he says, “let the reader understand,” he means, “I can’t risk being any more explicit.” He knows that he is writing about how the good news of God is sometimes in conflict with what Caesar claims is ‘good news’. Mark knows that he is writing about Jesus in a way that came to inspire activists such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, and Aung San Suu Kyi . Also: [link to www.lastdaysmystery.info] So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand-- then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened (Matthew 24:15-21). Maybe? Maybe not. I understood that they meant read between the lines, or look closer at what I am saying, but the majority of what I have found on this phrase is all about destruction and SHTF. Probably not just a coincidence... |
