yeah but look on the bright side. The police don't have the means to lock up 95%. They maybe can close the freeways but there have to be dozens or hundreds of other means of egress.

It will take a lot more than three missed meals. People routinely fast for several days to several weeks. No big deal. After three days or so the hunger sensation goes away.

In the past few weeks alone, three things have stood out for me.

1) Front page news, Cape Cod Times, Dennis (a town on Cape) unveils it's new armored vehicle. Photo op of small children playing in it, big community event, thing cost an extravagent amount of money. Huge bucks.

2) I'm driving to work last week with the radio on and I hear an ad for Cape Cod Community College's fall semester program, which ends with this: "Now offering an exciting opportunity in the field of homeland security." Sponsored by the DHS. You can get your degree in this "exciting field" in a rapid time. Etcetera. I nearly hit a telephone pole listening to this shit.

3) Yesterday, front page news in Cape Cod Times: "Cape Cod unveils it's brand new SWAT vehicle." Built to withstand anything. Huge money yet again. Etcetera.


Even here on little old, scenic Cape Cod, the scent in the wind is undeniable.
