I'll tell you what sucks. Being a student with a decent GPA, applying to Grad school, getting accepted, and realizing that you WILL FOOT THE ENTIRE BILL while the chinese and indian students in your classes have teaching assistantships that provided them with medical benefits, housing, and a STIPEND TO CARE FOR THEIR SPOUSE AND KIDS.

I was born and raised in this country and NO SUCH OFFER was made to me despite my good grades and hard work.

If they had TAKEN CARE OF ONE OF THEIR OWN CITIZENS WHO WAS JUST AS DESERVING AS THESE FOREIGN STUDENTS I would not be in a terrible financial situation and would be INVESTING AND GIVING BACK TO THIS COUNTRY instead of the 75% those T.A.'s who just went back b/c they could not even get citizenship in the end anyway.

And this was at a state university by the way. American colleges' disgusting little secret that deserving and HARD WORKING U.S. born citizens are NOT being given the teaching assistantships that they are fully qualified for and instead being passed over for students from other countries.

TPTB pushed the "everybody is entitled to a degree" bullshit so that broke ass welfare losers that don't have enough sense to pour piss out of a boot with instructions written on the heel would get into college for free so their presence would drive up the cost of tuition for all the fuckers paying either with cash (not many) or student loans (most people not on the dole) and then the broke ass welfare leeches with IQs of 70 or less would get dumbed down college degrees so the market would be flooded with degrees so wages would be driven down for everyone and all the people with IQs over 70 who took loans to pay for school would be strapped for life with debt in minimum wage jobs. Dig?

Fuck all the American born lazy ass fucks along with Egypt, Israel, illegal aliens, et al. The whole fuckin world needs to grow the hell up and start paying their own goddamned way. The end.

I am willing to bet anyone who is against this bill would be against every wasteful spending you outlined. And if you are against all of the things you mentioned but in support of this bill safe to assume you have student loan debt yourself.

To be against the wasteful spending where it does not benefit you, but agree with wasteful spending when it is a benefit to you personally would be the definition of "conflict of interest" and in the same bed with "special interest"

The more students there are the more teachers there are.
More teachers more union members.
Free education means more students.
More students means more control over the peoples thoughts.
The brainwashing begins in elementary school and continues.
When they are in college that is funded fully by the gov then the indoctrination and community organizing really kicks in.

My Brother paid off his student loan. The idiots misplaced the paperwork. They made him pay it a second time. Threatened legal action . He did. He is still wondering if the wonderkinder will make him pay a third time.

Will he get a refund? Doubt it.

If they completed college and obtained work with the degree in the field, then.. ok.. I guess.

But if they partied, and goofed off , did not finish.. Make them pay it back.

Yeah, I read it too---looks like you have to be no more than 150% above poverty level, for one thing. This would give some relief to some people, but it is not sweeping legislation that benefits very many.

After I saw this post I stopped reading. Why? Because you sir, nailed it. Unfortunately, people don't seem to understand this concept. Its the same thing that's happening with medical costs. Anytime the government guarantees to pay a certain amount, guess how much the (school, hospital, business, etc.) is going to charge for that service?

I am so confused! You see, I have a useless, worthless degree in Music, and I have been gainfully employed in a fantastic, stable job, using said shitty degree, for over a decade. If you are curious, I have been able to pay on my graduate student loans (I never took a dime for my undergraduate education), along with my wife's undergraduate and graduate loans, without issue, using income earned from my frivolous, silly piece of paper most folks call a degree. I don't know what exactly "where are they going to find" means; I can only assume you meant "what type of job" History, Art, and Music majors can find with a degree in their fields of study. There are jobs out there for these degrees; it's up to the INDIVIDUAL to make himself employable in any industry. In summary, please STFU and have a nice day.
