The Taiwan-registered ship was spotted 44 kilometers off Uotsurijima, the largest island in a group known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China. Japan controls the islands though China and Taiwan also claim ownership. [link to www.japantoday.com] |

The move followed the Japanese self-defence forces’ deployment of warships near the islands. The two countries’ warships reportedly stay more than 100 kilometres away from each other. But they would still be able to strike at each other any time with their guided missiles. As such, an armed clash could occur, even if only by accident. Around the islands, 16 Chinese surveillance vessels and 50 Japanese patrol boats, which are equipped with 40 mm machine guns, are also facing off against each other. China reportedly plans to send more surveillance vessels to the area to protect hundreds of Chinese fishing boats operating in waters off the islands. The maritime confrontation is expected to continue for some time as China is intent on highlighting its dispute with Japan over the islands to invalidate Japan’s claim that there is no dispute regarding them. The drill was conducted amid mounting tensions between Japan and China over a Japanese-controlled islet group in the East China Sea claimed by China and Taiwan. The island group is known as the Senkakus in Japan, Diaoyu in China and Tiaoyutai in Taiwan. In the drill, aimed at regaining control of an island captured by foreign forces, the Japanese and U.S. troops were seen leaving small boats to land on the northern shore of Guam. You are just talking bullshit out of your ass. If Japan doesn't care that island much, then hand it over to China then. Or repeal the stupid move of ' nationalising the island' . Problem solved. Otherwise. It means not only Japanese government care, but the of Ernest wants to sit up big distraction on its citizens away from Fukushima failure, collapsing Japanese economy and the coming hyperinflation caused by the QE of Bank of Japan. You are talking shit about China has to rely on Japan, China is biggest creditor of Japanese debt, the biggest market for Japan to sell its goods, the biggest source of tourists and international shoppers.. Japan does not stand a chance for decoupling from China and the rest of Asia. And Japan is indeed violenting the its peace constitution by making aggressive and illegal moves from dispute islands. Tell that to South Korea and Russia, they know exactly the same how did Japan has stolen a lot of islands from its neighbour. Japan's general election is coming up next month, and you wonder why it's leaders want to suddenly change the status quo of those islands which have rarely been touched on for years. |
