nope, no mental illness, widowed senior. Up to 2-3 year Waiting list for senior housing where I live.
Not many choices when you have a pet either. no pets, no pets everywhere..
At this price -I'm in a kind of safe area.

Way worse, i have like 20 euros with me, 3 months without water know, they cut it for like 100 euros rolf, and some house payments due to pay 2.

I had a really desperate week just on a year ago.
I had $8 to last 10 days after paying a truckload of bills that came in all at the same time.

I took my fishing rod on the weekend and caught about 5 decent size fish to last.
I bought a dozen eggs and live on fish and omelettes until my next day.

I loved it so much, I still go fishing at least every second weekend to stock up on fish.

Fresh fish is really expensive, so I feel like I'm saving money.

I am negative at the moment.

I've got $15 and no gas in my tank, and not a lot of food in my fridge. I don't worry about it though. I've been living on the edge for a while, been here before and know it's temporary. Everything changes. I'll get through, I won't starve and it'll happen again.

130 is a month and a half of food for me ;_;

I had literally pennies to last me this past week.

I had to get my brakes fixed and it cost me a fuck-ton.

Probably in a worse situation than you for SURE...$10...to last me 6 days.

You really didnt need to jump from divorce to married so soon and with family again since you are disable.
But since whats done is done you can go sign up for food stamps your self.wife doesnt have to do that.Go sign up.Probably qualify even if she goes back to work with 4 in the family.

You know what makes a big difference? Cooking for yourself and not buying "convenience" items on your way to and from work.

For instance, I NEVER and I mean NEVER buy a cup of coffee. Make what I need at home for pennies, take a cup for the road. Stopped buying lunch too. And I don't make fattening expensive lunches. Know what I do? Home-made soup. A pack of chicken thighs is like $3.50 and I chop up every vegetable within reach. I simmer this with a cube of boullion for like 2 hours. People at work beg me to bring them some of my soup, it's that good. Plus I lost 5 lbs since I started eating only soup for lunch, and am eating more veggies. It's so easy and the cheapest. Probably saving at least $25/week in lunch cost alone.

Dinners are similar. We almost NEVER go out to eat. When we do, we only have appetizers and 2 drinks just to be out and have fun. Every other night, I make home-cooked food and my man has commented on how he watches me prep dinner in like 15 min. He's like "why do we wait 45 min in some restaurants?" It's really cheap and easy to make low-cal nutritious dinners at home. I throw together stuff like chicken cacciatori, steak and broccoli, stir fry, pasta and sauce, pork chops and salad with mashed potatoes. These dinners do NOT cost a fortune folks!

Eat fewer meals away from home and you will save the most money of all. The average person probably spends like $30/week lunch, $10/week coffee, $40/week dinners & breakfast. That's a lot! It's what should be spend on groceries in a week.

When the collapse comes, thousands upon thousands will starve.

Ive gone with pennies for many weeks at a time never really longer than a month tho.
