Out in the country, every house on our street has it's own self contained septic system. When the shit hits the fan here, we will still be using indoor plumbing. New York can't even handle three days without power. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15170057 *Just take some pictures of your place for insurance before hand and take your paper work and some treasured pictures. Perhaps those left don't have vehicles ... they take the subway or bus. We know how that is going for the NY people! Not! However, using a hallway instead of a plastic bag in your own apartment is just plain courteous of others. .............................. Sad though that they have so little regards for others by not using a plastic bag. Last Edited by calin on 11/02/2012 03:17 PM .............................. Of coarse you have to have water, but in the event of not having running water from a municiple source available, all you have to do is pour a gallon in the tank and simple pond or river water that is within easy collection distance would do the job. We have a rain catch on the side of the house that holds 60 gallons. BTW, keeping adequate drinking water on hand is just basic preparedness. Having a container to collect non-potable water to wash, clean, and flush with is also just a basic thing to have. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. I just poured water directly into the toilet bowl during a power outage and down it goes, you don't need to put it in the tank, works better direct. |

Aristide Torchia User ID: 24799416 Switzerland 11/02/2012 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ohhh shit! Torchia was born in 1620. He was apprenticed in Leyden under the Elzevir family. After returning to Venice he published small works on philosophical and esoteric themes. In 1666, Torchia published De Umbrarum Regni Novem Portis (The Nine Doors to the Kingdom of Shadows), which was in turn based on the Delomelanicon, or Invocation of Darkness, a work supposedly written by Lucifer and that would allow the reader to summon devils. The Inquisition condemned Torchia for magic and witchcraft and burned him at the stake in 1667. |
