It is a law in all 50 states in the USA, but enforcing it is another thing all together. You can chase him for years, or he can claim no income. You could get $50 a month or $500 depending on his income, and that wold also mean time in court with attorneys. And if he pays, he will also have a right to visitation.

I defended myself in Superior Court in GA for child support modification because I couldn't afford an attorney. It wasn't easy. I sort of won.

i dont know about the US, here they definately do, child support can actaually just take money out of the fathers account without him consenting, if a claims made that hes a childs father.
Here if the claimed father doesnt think hes eligible to pay he has to pay for costs for paternity tests to prove himself not the father.
I do have one friend in the US who did not name the father on the childs birth cert. so is unable to claim child support, she did this though because it was a rape situation and she didnt ever want the father to be able to take her child or have custody of any kind.I can say she does have a wonderful child now, who although concieved in adversity, has given her more joy than she could have ever hoped for.
OP if you are pregnant,that child may have the fathers DNA, but it is not him_its a different soul who deserves the best from a devoted mother.

Its good your thinking in both directions, btu if youre over a week late, get a pregnancy test, go to the Dr even.

He does get a disability check from the state because of the way he was 'raised by his dad'. Very violent and said he was sexually abused, not by his dad, though. He works under the table part-time. He can afford it by quit smoking and drinking booze or at least HELP out somewhat.
So he has a monthly check and he smokes about a pack a day, not the cheap cigs either. So I'm sure he can help out, if he cleans up his act and stops drinking and smoking and gets a FULL time job, bartending, carpeting, home repairs or painting houses. He's a jack of a lot of trades.

I don't mind him having visitation rights. Maybe it will change his heart. *being optimistic here* :)

I got the result positive. I was irregular but not much...My period wasn't always on time, though, in the past few years, I have to POINT OUT, SO I was a week late and got myself down to the clinic on the 7th or 8th day that I was late! Sometimes my period comes days early and days late so I had to wait until Monday, because Sunday was closed!

I got tested at the clinic, but how many weeks is too late, for these herbs to take? Say if I'm 6 weeks along and get the stuff soon. Is 8 weeks too late to take them?

So you know, ovulation is when the egg is released. Usually 10-14 days before your period. That is your fertile time.
And you can, indeed, get pregnant on your period.
Most forms of birth control have failures. Don't be to rough
on yourself. Take a test. Buy the 2 pack. Take these lessons forward with you.
If you have the baby, do it because you are ready to be a mom.
If you don't have a baby, remember how this feels.

Some people may have thought waiting a week was too long, but my periods sometimes were sometimes 5 or 6 days off, early or late. I was supposed to get it last Sunday and would have went this Sunday, but like I said It was closed, so I waited another day. *sigh*

I did, went to the clinic, on Monday, said I was positive.

If you cramped and didn't get your period then it's a go.

Take your temperature first thing tomorrow a.m.. If it's 98.6 upon arising you're pregnant if it's 97.4 or so you're not.
In fact if you take your temp right now and it's on the low side you can feel safer that you're not preg.

Ya'know what? I've had few psychics say they had a hunch I wasn't pregnant. There is a chance that the lab test showed a 'false positive' and that means I have the pregnant hormone BUT the sperm might NOT have implanted itself correctly, so 20% chance I'm NOT PREGNANT. The only 100% accurate way of telling is with an ultrasound.

SO THE PSYCHICS that guessed I'm NOT pregnant might be right!

Are you a nurse? They took my temperature before they sent my urine to the lab and they did not tell me it was high.

Well, I had tampons in, expecting to get my period and they make me cramp a little so that I really don't know...
I'd rather wear tampons and cramp than those thick pads because you know why... I always got the super absorbing tampons.
I'd like to get a thermometer at CVS. I wonder why nobody told me this. Not saying you are telling me a myth, just saying. I've spoke with the pharmasist, thinking it was my change in anti-anxiety meds and he said no and but a test but those store test I heard are not as good as the clinic.

Hey pal, I'm almost 37. I was single and under a lot of stress for months, almost a year, and was NOT having sex so knew I wasn't pregnant! I went on anti-anxiety meds and they made my period come but wasn't very regular. STRESS HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT! STRESS MESSES WITH YOUR BODY, and being a woman I think is harder because of PMS and PMDD. It's tough being a woman!
BTW, during the summer I was doing OK! Getting my period every month. Finally, I thought, I'm OK! Then crazy coincidence my Dr. changed my xanes to valium and thought it wasn't helping my stress, so thought the change in meds screwed up my system (wishful thinking) *sigh*

Maybe the xanex was making me infertile. What a weird coincidence. I don't know too much about meds....whatever, I'm tired...

I got my period early so I might get mennapause(spelling?) early, true.

I don't have too much time to think about it. I think I'm already about six weeks along. You made me smile when you said I might wake up with my period*hug*. Btw, what I should have included is I have aspergers/Autism so I am like a little immature, but that's a sign, they say, adults with aspergers are child-like. I'm not using that as a cop out but it is what it is. Sometimes I think I have the maturity of a 14 or 16 year old, and I have been diagnosed by a psychiatrist, and wondered why all my life I felt different and was 'the black sheep' and didn't know how to socialize properly, it feels like you're awkward, but one wouldn't know unless they have it too. Now it seems to make sense why I'm so torn and nervous? People shouldn't judge me when they don't know anything about me.

And child support is a law in all 50 states, you don't need an attorney, the Child Support Enforcement Dept of your state will do that for you. They're a pain in the ass to deal with but will help get at least a small amount of money from him to help you.

At least in Florida I know that payment of child support is a completely separate deal from parent's visitation.

Started taking Dong Quai, last week, cuz I already had some, to regulate my periods, the Pennyroyal I got in the mail more than 3 days ago, been taking more than 3 days, and both Cohosh, just got yesterday or day before.
Yes! I knew of a women, long time ago that was successful at this and didn't have to go through the surgical abortion.
She went to some kind of witch and was given a certain combo... probably what you said!
How long or how many days would it take to work? It's been several days and I'm waiting! Took a big dent out of my pocketbook!
