Im a Relay and Automatic Control Tech for a utility company on the east coast. We do the work in the substations installing and maintaining the feeder protection and the SCADA communications within. Why do you say that? That one Xformer doesn't supply all of Manhattan. Thats ridiculous. Even if it was a single phase of a 500kv circuit, other Xformers can be tied and switched to handle the load. There are also what is called "mobile" transformers and switchgear that can be brought in via tractor trailer and hooked up as a temp. If it was a big ass 500kv to 230kv single phase, that could take a year to replace but they can still switch out the load elsewhere and temp it. Its all good.

Lets build a wireless Tesla Tower for restoring power in the proper location. Its time for the suppresed technology to be brought to light(no pun intended).

The beauty of transformers is that, in cases such as this, several smaller transformers may be used in its place until it can be properly replaced.

Or, the system can just be reworked permanently around the substitutes, and then there'd be no need to get yet one more thing manufactured in China.

Sorry but I don't believe it's going to be possible to replace that transformer in less than a year. How many acres of parking lot full of mobile transformers would it take to substitute for something that filled a city block?

Actually most of the Transformers are made in Pakistan if you want to know. Yes they can take alonggggg time too build. Canada does buld some but most are from Pakistan. They have the super dupper techno for it.

I believe this was the transformer "Optimus Prime"...irreplaceable, even if we did have a direct connection with Cybertron, which we don't. They could try and get an Ultra Magnus to take it's place, but it'll never really work. I don't think you know much about Transformers at all.
