we got a 21 pound butterball halal blessed turkey.

we only eat the dark meat.

Oyster Dressing, aka Oysters in Cornbread stuffing...mmmmm...

It's all about the home made pecan pies!

One I wanted to try, but 20 years has dimmed the memory on preparation..
there was a restaurant owner in Louisiana who said he could core ham and stuff it with shrimp and a number of other seafood goodies, and then bake it.

One of my shrimp favorites.

I have looked a number of times for a recipe.
I'm sure it is not that hard to figure out, though.
Just need to get closer to a coast for fresh seafood.

ALL OF IT!!!! I love how the stuffing mixes in with potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, turkey, and creamed onions. Soooo good!

Well, that would be my choice so I put 'other'.

But, to be honest, I've refused to buy a ToFurkey since they took the cranberry dumplings out and put the retarded spongecake in there.

Only slightly off topic:

Although turkey is pretty bland, it makes for a great 'after Thanksgiving' sandwich!

Put some turkey breast on bread with a chewy crust, some mayo, a dab of mustard, a slice of tomato, a piece of lettuce, salt, a bit of onion, some crumpled bacon...mmm!

I'm in FL. The Bonefish Grille is on 23rd Street in this area. It's a chain. So you can probably find them in many places.

Screw turkey, we eat that on Christmas...

For Thanksgiving we do a slow cooked Salt and Pepper crusted Prime Rib with cranberry horseradish sauce...

Now THAT'S something to be thankful for...

I love Bonefish Grille, we have a house in Lake County, but we go to Bonefish in Ormond Beach all the time...

But not for Thanksgiving...

duck wasnt on the list!! It is my favorite. It has to be cooked a certain way to get all the greasy fat out of it, then it crisps up so crispy on the outside, and so yummy on the inside! Really, the whole thing tastes like juicy dark turkey meat. But the GRAVY!!!!! Oh my! You have never tasted a gravy like a good rich duck gravy!

It does sound a bit simple to make, I still would like a recipe to go by in case there are key seasonings that go with it, or techniques to cooking it....To that end, I'll probably be googling all my favorite recipe haunts tonight until I come across one....will post here if I do find one though! Thanks for the great idea...my husband is going to love giving it a try.
