Niche market that's the key and being your own boss, you just have to learn to be a people person. Selling yourself is the key to success in anything, just be attractive friendly and personable and you will be successful in anything. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28240923 They all boil down to one factor... Microsoft Windows The disease you all bought into ... like fucking lemmings. I own both Mac and Windows7. I prefer Windows..... 85% of the corporate world is windows. that's where the money is..... |

I'm going to start a religion, thats where all the money is lol i have always wanted to be a cult leader, but never felt i had the charisma. |
ZEROeffect User ID: 21572434 Canada 11/22/2012 11:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | start making Apps man! A passive income is what you want more than anything in this world. Making money while you sleep is way better than a job. I have a buddy who started making apps like trackers that are installed on the phones of kids so that the parents could follow everything the kids do, from gps tracking, to reading the texts. All in hidden files so the kids don't even know they are there. Good money to be made from paranoid parents about what there kids are doing when not in sight. Specialize in something that interests you in your field and the money will flow. This world is getting farther away from "JOBS" type mentality every day! |

ZEROeffect User ID: 21572434 Canada 11/22/2012 11:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just to add to my last post. I would pay big bucks for an app or a program that can do comparative biometric analysis between photos or videos. Meaning...you take two pictures of people and the program tells you how much of a match they are. Say between ear biometrics, eyes, movements, full face shots ect. Just a tip for you. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23011194 Learn JAVA become a programmer & enter the contract market. Loads of contracts about... $500 - $1200 a DAY! what planet you live? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 6630717 Canada 11/22/2012 11:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | that's because the skill is now quite common. a decade ago the industry needed network techs badly, so half the planet ran out and at least attempted to get certified. a surplus of at least passably skilled workers drives down the pay for the position. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28147705 This. It is an over saturated skill set. Just as it was before you chose that field OP, there should be no surprises here. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26131888 United States 11/22/2012 11:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You need to become an IT contractor.... doh! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28238942 Thats where the money is... ^^^^ THIS I worked for nearly 10 years as a Lotus Notes Developer, and NEVER did I make less than $50 - $60 AN HOUR. Programming, web development, contracting. Thats where it is. However, you DO have to (typically) live in a metropolitan area like Silicon Valley. I now work as a database content provider @ 30K per year, but do professional side jobs for $60 an hour. The money is still there if you know where to look. Sure everyone has a computer. But: the more people that have computer things, the more they will need people like us to program, network, or develop apps for them. |

In the middle of a 4.2l engine in a ford truck install, and no matter how dirty, bloody, agitated I get, it's still less stressful than dealing with the IT crap. Turned my PC into a gamer now, no work programs on it, and couldn't be happier. |
