Because its wrong to attack others simply for being different to you. You're willing to voice your opinion that a group of people are disgusting on a public forum, therefore you should be willing to discuss your attitude. I would have thought that would be obvious.

It puzzles me that someone would reduce relationships or sex down sticking things in places. I think that says a lot about how that person operates.

I must admit that I came to this conclusion partially based upon my own experiences and observations. I worked at a community college for a few years, and it was interesting to see the number of OPENLY gay/lesbian instructors (never mind the "closeted" ones) that worked there. Also I worked at a State Agency for several years, and I'd estimate that at LEAST 20% of the employees were gay/lesbian.

I've been retired for nearly 10 years now, so I'd guess the numbers have only increased.

I don't know how it is in Canada, but I'd surmise that the situations would be similar.

I disagree. I don't think you can choose to believe or not. A non believer can't just go "right, from now on I'm going to believe in god". You're either convinced or you aren't. I don't believe in a deity, nor do I believe we evolved from apes. I can't just choose to believe those things.

No on forced you to attend a gay parade. Besides, your in the face of every gay person 24/7. Straight people can walk hand in hand anywhere without being attacked. There have always been lots of homosexuals. At different points throughout history its been more open or less open depending public opinions at the time. Right now, there are looooads of people hiding their true sexuality. You have an issue with them being open and honest, but most likely you see it as sinister when they hide it.

Then why are we even discussing this? lol. My brother is gay, so yeah, it's mos def in my face. I love him, but I do not have to agree to his choices in life whether it be homosexuality or whether he decides to steal from the local mall. And btw, I've never attended a gay parade.

I agree, it should not be about gay rights. It is about human rights and no one should be excluded. Everybody deserves the same rights and if you are ok with excluding someone else, you shouldn't be surprised when someone wants to exclude you.
