He really is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't here, no matter what he does or finds. One thing that you cannot argue with is how he brings the truth as he and the general consensus of the world's astronomers see it. That is not always everything but in a science that can mostly be easily proved by accurate, consistent measurement, he is on the mark. I have no idea why he would be posting in a forum like this to begin with other than trying to educate, which he does in every post. We can all come up with his same conclusions on all of the youtube videos and anomolies if we invest #1, TIME into learning astronomy (and repeatable results) and a very distant #2, MONEY into equipment. Equipment is cheap...knowledge is more expensive in time for most than equipment will ever be in money, at least in astronomy.

So..Dr. Astro is the real deal on here, always has been - the worse people here treat him, the less he will post and the loss will be to the people here. If you don't like him or how smart he is then read some astronomy books, take a class, visit your local astronomy club and lastly buy a scope if you understand it and like it. THEN, prove him wrong on anything he has posted and let the intelligent factual debate begin. The ultimate truth comes from within, given enough research and education.

Indeed it is. Here's my processing of the raw STEREO Behind HI2 data from the first image of the day on the 1-4 of December (I aligned the images relative to the stars). The comet is faint but you can see it cutting through the "bow" or "arm" of Orion.

And here's a comparison to Celestia showing where C/2012 V4 should be relative to the stars from STEREO Behind's position:

The comet isn't actually coming at us, it's much closer to STEREO-B than it is to us.

They don't and they shouldn't; those charts are for where the comet will appear from earth's perspective. STEREO-B is nowhere near earth, it's about 1.8 AUs away, on the opposite side of the sun from us (not directly across of course, at least not yet). That's why I made the comparison image showing where it should appear relative to the stars from STEREO-B's perspective specifically.

I understand where stereo b is and I also understand the relativity of where the 2012v4 should be. What I don't understand is the size of the coma of this object that is referenced in correlation to the size of what the coma of 2012v4 should be. Also what I don't understand in correlation to 2012v4, is why this is traveling so much faster than it should ... much faster.

I certainly don't have your experience in these matters and have only been following SOHO since about 2006 ... but I can't get the two events to correlate and just wondering where I am off.
