UN says it violates the babies right to know their parents. I guess UN finds it a better solution if mothers, who for example were raped, rather kill their unwanted baby. they better kill themselves, abortion exists and shall be used in case of rape if it's mother's wish... abandoning babies deserves death penalty for self hating nature (woman). You people sit and bitch and complain about the UN all the time around here but I'll just bet none of you have ever sat down and written a letter or sent an email protesting anything to anyone. You can hope for things to change or you can put words into action. Most people do nothing about anything and just hope for the best. Do nothing. Get nothing. Friendship isn't about whom you have known the longest...Its about who walked into your life and said...I am here for you. |

We adopted our last child and there are plenty of folks who would like these babies. It's totally barbaric to even think of killing anyone when there are so many who can't have children who are willing to take the unwanted ones. The biggest problem in this whole process is the expense involved in adopting. Many more would adopt if it wasn't so costly to do so. For years adopting parents fly all over the world to get a baby from another country. Adopting is a good thing and something that brought us great joy. We can't imagine our lives without our adopted child - other then dull. Children enrich our lives and we were very grateful to the mother who gave us her baby to be our own. However, the real issue and what is most disturbing is the power the UN is accumulating to where it seems to think it should tell other sovereign nations what to do. I find this deplorable and totally outlandish. Who do they think they are? The world police? Last Edited by Proud American Supporter on 12/09/2012 11:07 AM The truth is incontrovertible. Get educated, please. Embryology has advanced since this "bundle of cells" concept. That is so 1970's! You are the one lacking in knowlwedge of the scientific facts of this matter. Check it out. From your remarks, you will be greatly surprised to learn of the actual fetal development that occurs very early on in pregnancy. Get educated, please. Let me guess, you probably believe in evolution too. Evolution that claims life "sprang from a primordial soup" of enzymes. Enzymes with LESS LIFE than this "bundle of cells" you would throw in the garbage. If we found the EXACT same "bundle of cells" under a rock on Mars people would scream from the top of their lungs "we've found life on another planet". Yet here we are throwing them in the garbage can because it interferes with sleeping around and actually having to take responsibility for one's actions. I certainly didn't wake up with the expectation of debating eugenics in several threads, which incidentally, I'm extraordinarily sensitive to. Meanwhile, I'm curious to know if the same people who apparently have little regard for human life smile the same way when their own mortality is no less at risk from day to day. |

Fetal Development From conception to birth Day 1: fertilization: all human chromosomes are present; unique human life begins. . Day 6: embryo begins implantation in the uterus. Day 22: heart begins to beat with the child's own blood, often a different type than the mothers'. Week 3: By the end of third week the child's backbone spinal column and nervous system are forming. The liver, kidneys and intestines begin to take shape. Week 4: By the end of week four the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg. Week 5: Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop. Week 6: Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present; fingernails are forming. Week 7: Eyelids, and toes form, nose distinct. The baby is kicking and swimming. Week 8: Every organ is in place, bones begin to replace cartilage, and fingerprints begin to form. By the 8th week the baby can begin to hear. Weeks 9 and 10: Teeth begin to form, fingernails develop. The baby can turn his head, and frown. The baby can hiccup. Weeks 10 and 11: The baby can "breathe" amniotic fluid and urinate. Week 11 the baby can grasp objects placed in its hand; all organ systems are functioning. The baby has a skeletal structure, nerves, and circulation. Week 12: The baby has all of the parts necessary to experience pain, including nerves, spinal cord, and thalamus. Vocal cords are complete. The baby can suck its thumb. Week 14: At this age, the heart pumps several quarts of blood through the body every day. Week 15: The baby has an adult's taste buds. Month 4: Bone Marrow is now beginning to form. The heart is pumping 25 quarts of blood a day. By the end of month 4 the baby will be 8-10 inches in length and will weigh up to half a pound. Week 17: The baby can have dream (REM) sleep. Week 19: Babies can routinely be saved at 21 to 22 weeks after fertilization, and sometimes they can be saved even younger. Week 20: The earliest stage at which Partial birth abortions are performed. At 20 weeks the baby recognizes its' mothers voice. Months 5 and 6: The baby practices breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid into its developing lungs. The baby will grasp at the umbilical cord when it feels it. Most mothers feel an increase in movement, kicking, and hiccups from the baby. Oil and sweat glands are now functioning. The baby is now twelve inches long or more, and weighs up to one and a half pounds. Months 7 through 9: Eyeteeth are present. The baby opens and closes his eyes. The baby is using four of the five senses (vision, hearing, taste, and touch.) He knows the difference between waking and sleeping, and can relate to the moods of the mother. The baby's skin begins to thicken, and a layer of fat is produced and stored beneath the skin. Antibodies are built up, and the baby's heart begins to pump 300 gallons of blood per day. Approximately one week before the birth the baby stops growing, and "drops" usually head down into the pelvic cavity. [link to www.nrlc.org] It's a fact that in many nations, including the US, Canada, and parts of Europe, abortions are available through the entire pregnancy, even for healthy unborn babies. It's also a fact that there are tens of millions of families who are sitting on waiting lists, sometimes for years, hoping to get a chance to adopt a newborn. There are hundreds of millions of others couples that would jump at the chance of adopting a baby. But don't have the tens of thousands of dollars for the governmental fees, and don't want to take away the only hope that an infertile couple has to a baby. |
