Also the Damascus prophecy... does it say in one hour it will be destroyed ? Or one day something like that?

The real key is to scripturally determine who/what is actually Israel. Originally, Jacob wrestled with God and received the name of "Israel", along with a limp and a new perspective, through which he was able to see God in the face of his enemies.

Only those loyal to Christ, the King of Israel, are legal Israelites. The nation currently calling itself "Israel" is a faction of usurpers attempting to take the kingdom by force and deception. Jesus says we'll know them by their fruit, so we might want to assess whether we've seen this faux-Israel even attempt to meet the directives given them in the Sermon on the Mount. 64 years is a pretty long window.

Chapter 17 describes Damascus being removed from being a city and becming a fallen ruin. Suddenly, perhaps nuclear or other devastating attack. Jeremiah 49:27 also mentions it.

The Old Testament gives a continuing saga of how the Israelis repeatedly turn away from the Lord, and when they repent, the Lord restores them to their land and their prosperity.
Ultimately, they will repent, and for His glory, not because they have been perfect, sinless people, but because He is glorified; He keeps His promises, no matter how sinful people become.

Ultimately they will repent and be restored and will possess their land forever! Israelis still have a lot of destruction and war to endure, but ultimately, they will possess the land, forever, because God says so.

You confuse prophecies. The war against Jerusalem is an another story, e.g.

Israel, through Biblical history has experienced famine, war, pestilence and the sword many times. But it has been restored. The land of Israel MAY (not necessarily, but MAY)during the coming 7 year tribulatiion, be devastated again, but in the end, the land of Israel will be restored to its people. The Bible says so. That settles it.

Two different prophecies are being spoken of here. It is Babylon which will be destroyed in "one hour" If you consider Damascus as being that city which the whole world does commerce with including "the souls of men", you would be correct; but it is not Damascus which DOES become a ruinous heap and ceases to become a city.

It is Rome that becomes destroyed in one hour. The Roman Catholic Church has the largest portfolio of stocks in the world. No other church (or organization) can be said to do business with the entire world including its delicacies. "for by thy sorceries were all the nations deceived"; "And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth." Rev. 19 23,24.

Chapter 18 identifies that "great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls" as the great city Babylon. "In one hour, so great riches come to nought.....and shall be found no more at all." The fine linen alludes to the linen that was worn by the "high priest" in Israel and implies that these are also "priests", but not priests of God. White linen is given to the Lamb's bride for it represents the righteousness of the saints.
