After hearing of the Mayan date, he changed his story and adjusted Timewave Zero accordingly. I don't need to give a link. Just use search at the top of GLP. There are many, many discussions about this. |

TrinityMountain User ID: 20527800 Canada 12/10/2012 06:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You read some article that some guy makes a statement about some other guy being on drugs. That does not change the fact that The Mayans made this wheel calendar and it ends December 21st 2012 The guy who just made this statement about some guy being on drugs is a guy who's writing a book about it....? That should be self explainatory in and of itself. Scientists have looked at the Calender and it does in fact end on December 21st 2012. Many people have theorys about all this. Your mind gets changed pretty easy if one little article perfectly timed with all these events for puplicity gets a mention on Yahoo of all places. They are trying to calm the masses down. People are worried. Hey lets run an article and say the guy was on drugs and say this guy is publishing a book in 2013. That outta work. Worked on you. Friendship isn't about whom you have known the longest...Its about who walked into your life and said...I am here for you. |

The 'prophecy' does not stem from the Mayans at all - or date from thousands of years ago. Instead, the beliefs come from two New Age books in the Seventies and Eighties. The two books predict outcomes as surreal as a 'upgrade' to human consciousness predicted by a spirit from the seventh century. The date itself comes from a prophecy based on a magic mushroom trip. “December 21st will be just another Friday morning,” said Andrew Wilson, Assistant Head of Social Studies at the University of Derby. “A hippy guru called Jose Arguelles associated the date with the Mayan calendar in a book called The Mayan Factor in 1987. But it's an obsolete form of the calendar, which had not been used since the year 1100AD.” [Related: 20-year-old global warming prediction 'was accurate'] “He claimed to be channelling various spirits, including the spirit of a Mayan king from the seventh century. He predicted a ‘shift in human consciousness’ - mass enlightenment.” The actual date of December 21 first appeared in an earlier work - a 1975 book by Terence McKenna, a writer known for his descriptions of “machine elves” seen while under the influence of drugs. Wow ! Terence McKenna made it up while on drugs..thousand of years ago! I did not know he had a time travelling machine as well. |

It goes back at least to Erich von Daniken popularizing the notion in his film Chariots of the Gods. Of course, many writers were discussing it prior, but that's when the idea became seen my millions. It's easy to find that old film on the web. |

And sadly, those who believe are those who like it's message - there is no judgement, there is no such thing as absolute morality and there is no such thing as sin. And don't forget the serpent's favourite tactic...you too can become like god if you'll only "eat the fruit" from the wrong tree. |
