The SHINING
Just watched it again.

I think I get it?

The hotel represents the world or Earth.

His commitment to his employers was to the elite the overlords.

He was the caretaker, a(gatekeeper)

But what was with the bear who was sucking the elite guys dick?

Obviously it was worship of some kind because they had that ritualistic devil worship music playing, you know the stuff with chatting.

Who did the bear represent? (do I need to look in the bible?)

Also at the end in the photo is the president behind Jack with a fat lady who has a duck on her ... what is with the duck?

Re: The SHINING
The Shining is surely Stanley Kubrick's most misunderstood masterpiece.I use the word 'masterpiece' guardedly because I have never really thought that The Shining was a verygood film.At the time, in 1980 when I first saw it, I didn't like it at all. The way that Kubrick threw out so much ofStephen King's great source material and replaced it with a lot of things that just didn't seem to make anysense, really bothered me.Hopefully, before I am finished with this essay, the reader will see it is only when Kubrick dramaticallyalters the script from Stephen King's novel that we can begin to understand what Stanley Kubrick is tryingto tell us in his version of The Shining. It should be understood from the beginning that The Shining is Stanley Kubrick's most personal film(outside of, possibly, Eyes Wide Shut). Before we are done here it will be easy to see that Kubrick wasonly using Stephen King's novel as a launching pad (excuse the pun) to be able to tell a completelydifferent story under the guise of making a film based on a best-selling novel. He did this for a veryimportant reason - mainly to save his life.Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. In fact, let's start at the beginning. There are two main characters in the film, Jack...

I've read almost all of kings work. He's an amzing author, but he doesn't get that deep. You could be right about the bear thing and the duck, as that those are kubricks and not from the novel. I could see Kubrick being all symbolicky, King, nope.

I'm still checking out the bible for the bear references unfortunately they the same bear in the bible for she bear and a real bear so still going.

But I did notice he said by the "hair of your chin'ie chin chin".

This is referring an older woman who has started to grow hair on her chin, so not a woman of thirty, more like one of fifty?

Re: The SHINING
I haven't really looked at these yet but these are the most significant BEAR references in the bible.

Deuteronomy 10:8 At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

Johsua 3:3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.

1 Samuel 17:34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: (35) And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

Proverbs 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

Lamentations 3:10 He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

Hosea 13:8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

Amos 5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

1 Esdras 4:14
O ye men, it is not the great king, nor the multitude of men, neither is it wine, that excelleth; who is it then that ruleth them, or hath the lordship over them? are they not women? (15) Women have borne the king and all the people that bear rule by sea and land.

Wisdom of Solomon 11:17 For thy Almighty hand, that made the world of matter without form, wanted not means to send among them a multitude of bears or fierce lions,

Sir 47:3 He played with lions as with kids, and with bears as with lambs.

Revelation 13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Re: The SHINING
The blood coming out of the lift had nothing to do with the novel as it was not in the novel.

I think it relates to this ...

Revelation 14:18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. (19) And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. (20) And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Got it a DUCK is a fowl.

Jeremiah 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

Jeremiah 9:15 And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

Re: The SHINING
Yip it definitely relates to the bible.

The woman that causes the drink to spill on Jack is wearing gold. Rev 12 - A woman clothed in the sun ...

The drink that gets spilled is, Advocaat, which is made of eggs, milk and honey. It gets water added to it by Brady.

The store room is full of tomatoes in cans etc.

"You give your word on that Mr Torance?" Jack replies "I give you my Word.'

The boy repeats "Red Rum" for murder. No doubt this is a reference to wine?

Most of the women in the end picture are quite big and many have like a reef of vine or grapes on their heads.
