I fix fitness equipment for a living, clubs are hilarious. People who are serious about working out have quality home gyms and don't join cubs.

Clubs have club "culture", which is why most people who work out at clubs continue to do so.

I was about to call you a pervert but you may be right. Admittedly, it's far more comfortable to work out in "less" clothes (plus less sweaty laundry for us to deal with later)but there IS a line that some women cross. The dead giveaway is make-up and a hairdo. Believe me, no woman who goes to the gym to REAllY work out will want the feeling of sweaty runny make up. A lot of people DO peacock at the gym, mostly men though so just make sure she's really a woman :)

Well it's a probably a mix of everything.

First remember this, women since the beginning of time, inherently compete with other women. They must look the hottest, ....it's instinctual, to be the best, you win the best possible mate. So dressing like that is as much about other women as it is for other men, so yes they do want your attention, but more so, they want to steal your attention from other women. It's just like the wedding ring. Who gets more attention from a female, a man with a ring or a man without one on? So it's like a little game.....now of course when you really give them attention, then they get creeped to, because it was more Bout trying to steal your attention away, then actually getting your attention for real.

Then you have those who may be dressing like that because they do have a certain person there they really do want to attract....

Also, it is hard to work out in big loose clothes, it's easier with tighter firm fitting clothes.....so it just be about comfort too?

Free weights are rarely used in the overall scope of things. The vast majority of folks use cabled strength equipment (not including the meathead Venice beach types, which make up about 3% of people serious about their fitness).

Bodybuilders use cables as much as free weights. I seriously doubt that you even have a clue as to what you are talking about.

A way more common injury scenario is the treadmill facing away from the wall, with the rear of the unit close to the wall. It's an excellent place to fall and get trapped as the walk belt mercilessly shreds you to bits.

Powered cardio equipment is nothing to fuck around with, it can kill you.
