Quoting: Sleeping Giant Mass beheadings, gendercide, gassing of girls' schools, mass slaughter of non-believers and less than devout Muslims, attacks on US soldiers, acid attacks on women, brutal burka enforcement ..... must not be criticzed. So speaketh the caliph in the White House. He is stalking these anti-humans for peace, after all. Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration’s crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things. It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces. The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article that should infuriate the American taxpayers funding the never-ending war on terror. The manual is being created because someone with authority bought the theory that cultural insensitivity is driving insider attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan. [link to atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com] The original article is from the Wall Street Journal : Thanks to AC 29301466. [link to online.wsj.com] But it has drawn criticism from U.S. Marine Gen. John Allen, the top military commander in Afghanistan, who aides said hasn't—and wouldn't—endorse the manual as written. Gen. Allen also rejected a proposed foreword that Army officials drafted in his name. "Gen. Allen did not author, nor does he intend to provide, a foreword," said Col. Tom Collins, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan. "He does not approve of its contents." The draft handbook uses Maj. Bordin's conclusions to psychologically prepare troops for serving in Afghanistan. A summary includes views of some U.S. soldiers that Afghan forces engage in thievery, are "gutless in combat," are "basically stupid," "profoundly dishonest," and engage in "treasonous collusion and alliances with enemy forces." blah blah blah maple syrup, blah blah blah, hockey, blah blah blah, justin beiber, blah blah blah, nickelback Wake up, oh sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you |

I'm no muslim supporter, by any means, but I take this as a "don't poke the bear" type measure. It's bad enough that we're over there stickin' our nose in where we don't belong, so why provoke them further, ya know? Quoting: HippyAwakened If we're over there (where indeed we don't belong) we should speak truth to our own troops. If we cannot do that, we must just get out. Should get out anyway. What about the Afghan government troops who kill ours intentionally? Is it forbidden for our surviving troops to talk about that too? |

Quoting: roadkyll13 28987889 It was Hillary Clinton who pissed them off by saying women had to work on the goddamn thing. Is it now forbidden to order the people to go against their Muslim traditions, like having women out working on a pipeline? That would be too good to be true. Then we could actually just leave and let them live their own lives. But it's probably not. We'll be attacking their way of life, while forbidding our troops to make any criticism of it. |

Muslims supports pedophilia and should be told how disgusting it is. I suppose it puts our soldiers in danger if those pedophiles want to retaliate. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1409813 Actually....soldiers dont have these rights in full... Gi rights: [link to nlgmltf.org] "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY (MOSTLY) WHAT YOU THINK, ORALLY AND IN WRITING. But there are some limits here, too. You can't say things that encourage violence or urge others to violate the regulations, you can't communicate with "the enemy" by writing letters to Iraqi officials or soldiers, and you can't call the President, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, or a few other high government officials what article 88 of the UCMJ calls "contemptuous words." Service people have gotten into trouble for using "fascist," "thief," murderer," "tyrant," "fool," and "gangster" in relation to such people (but officers didn't get in trouble for saying things like that about President Clinton). Article 88 says it only applies to an officer but if they really want to go after an enlisted person for saying these things they'd probably try to use the catchall, art. 134's "to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, or conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces." Art. 117 of the UCMJ outlaws saying ugly things about people, but that's so broad it's probably unconstitutional unless used against really super awful statements. You're in more substantial danger if you say things that could make GI's desert, disobey lawful orders, or refuse to do their jobs. You can, subject to all of these limitations, write, publish, and distribute things like newspapers, leaflets, and web pages. You can write letters to the editor as long as they're not part of an organized letter campaign for a political candidate or party (the Army deals with electoral political activity in its Regulation 600-20 Appendix B). It all has to be while you're off duty and without using military paper, ink, computers, phones, or other supplies or equipment. You can put a bumper sticker on your car. Yard signs off base are governed by the same rules as other writings (unless it's displayed by a civilian resident and so gets the benefit of civilian free speech rules); in base housing they're iffy, subject to local orders, and probably with more leeway for those on issues ("No War") than for politicians (Vote for Bush"). And, of course, you can't say or imply that you are speaking on behalf of the military. Civilian spouses and children are just that-civilians. Off base, they aren't governed by the military's limitations. For on base activity, the command can issue orders that take away their right of expression almost the same as service members." |

The Army of yesteryear would never feel it necessary to beg for an enemy’s mercy or cultural indulgence. Ike did not caution Americans not to speak ill of the Nazis on the eve of D-Day lest they abuse his soldiers. FDR did not describe the beheading of American pilots by the Japanese in 1942 as “workplace violence” lest he offend the men of Nippon. Ike and FDR counted on soldiers and Marines to be big enough to take care of themselves.
