CHRISTIANS, please explain what happened to FISH during the Great Flood/Noah's Ark??

Why wouldnt they survive the great flood...

Two things,

Noah was Jewish

All fish were salt water fish until after the flood

Um...the fish just swam like always. Including fresh-water fish. Which as any aquarium keeper will tell you, is not going to work well.

But god magicked the fish so they could all live in the same water. And magically allowed them to survive the churning waters of something a dozen magnitudes worse than any flood or tsunami we've ever seen. And magically took care of the benthic species, and the ones that grow in tidal pools, and the ones that only dwell in still water, and the ones that have to live near geothermal vents.

God also magically brought land animals to the ark, kept them from fighting or dying of disease and bad sanitation and overcrowding and complete lack of all those things namby-pamby zookeepers seem to think are necessary to allow even the less exotic species to survive. And fed them, too. And kept the ark from breaking up in the equivalent of a 1,000 meter tidal surge, and kept an oversized wooden boat afloat and...

....what does GOD need with a BOAT?

If he is going to magic everything else, what was the POINT of the damned BOAT?

I see. True if its written in the Old Testament...Then the question should be asked of all people of the book (Jews, Christians, and Muslims).

They were already well taken care of. Lots of floating food....maxi-min everywhere.

Raising or lowering the level of the ocean 5 ft is not going to do any harm to those fish, rain is fresh water so the fish in the lakes and streams would have also had no problems surviving.

you mean fish EVOLVED to live in fresh water?

It's because there were no fish then, because there weren't any seas, just underground water, and the earth was surrounded by a watery canopy. When the flood happened, the water in the canopy fell to earth, and at the same time the waters inside the earth rose. This created the seas.

At least that's how I recall the story being told to me, long ago.

this is a good question, and fortunately we have a former professor of evolution with access to one of the largest libraries on evolution in the world who can answer this and other questions...

but you will still need to make a choice... evolution just appears to be absurd and the profound intelligence of creation self -evident...

(exactly the same kinds of fish we have today)

There weren't any religions in Noah's time. Also, after the flood, he and his sons were the only men on earth.

Ok, so how do we have salt and fresh water bodies? If the vast majority of water fall was FRESH it would have desalinated the oceans. Also, the Bible says that the tallest mountain was covered, so you are telling me that the water covered the Earth up to 30K feet (Himalayas)??? Please don't tell me that that range was created via hydraulicing, because that is NOT possible. Also, you realize that the sheer volume of rain that fell (friction), according to PHYSICS would have super heated the atmosphere and burned up the water...

Oh, and one more thing. The sheer volume of water that fell would be approx 4-5 times MORE water than currently exists on the Planet Earth - where did it magically go???
