Paragould Arkansas police CANCELS public meeting about new crime unit!! LMAO

In the interest of public safety, we have elected to cancel the remaining Town Hall Meetings.

We have corresponded with numerous residents and non-residents today alone who were both supportive and against our Street Crimes Unit and Town Hall Meetings. Some of the correspondance has caused us great pause in whether or not the meetings should remain as scheduled.

As the police department, it is our duty to protect ALL residents and non-residents from harm. We feel that with the strong feelings on both sides of the Street Crimes Unit issue, a safe and productive meeting would not be the probable outcome.

So when people get pissed and start yelling that the police have no right the police just close their ears, dress up like commandos, lock and load, and go infringing on rights anyway.

Just the wording from that message to the city tells me all I need to know about what went down with their "plans".

I was born in Paragould, Arkansas on July 30, 1962, the place was weird then and weird now. I grew up just south of Paragould, in Jonesboro...yes...home of the school shooting in 1998. I went to school at Valley View, the father of one of the young boys was a classmate of mine.

Anyway, Paragould is just south (maybe 10 miles) from Caldwell, Mo., in the boothill.

He didn't say their not going all martial law, he just said their not going to talk about it.

Number one, they said that in the original article if you had an attention span long enough to reach that part.

Number 2, what they said was, because of public outcry, the meeting was cancelled because it wouldn't have been productive nor safe to do so.
