Re: Its Members Shall Know No Fear and Feel No Shame, and Their Knowledge Shall Prevail Over All Odds.
The following prophetic vision for our time was left by Cathars, the last known of whom were burned alive by the Inquisition of the Roman Catholic Church at Montsegur, Languedoc, France in 1244 AD:

The Cathar Prophecy

It has no fabric, only understanding.

It has no membership, save those who know they belong.

It has no rivals, because it is non-competitive.

It has no ambition, it seeks only to serve.

It knows no boundaries, for nationalisms are unloving.

It is not of itself, because it seeks to enrich all groups and religions.

It has no secret, no arcanum, no initiation save that of true understanding of the power of love and that, if we want it to be so, the world will change, but only if we change ourselves first.

It acknowledges all great teachers of all ages who have shown the truth of love.

Its participants will practice the truth of love in all their being.

It seeks not to teach but to be, and in being, to enrich.

It recognizes the whole planet as a Being of which we are all a part.

It recognizes that the time has come for the supreme transmutation, the ultimate alchemical act of conscious change of the world-ego into a voluntary return to the Whole.

It does not proclaim itself with a loud voice, but in the subtle realms of loving.

It salutes all those in the past who have blazed the path and have paid the price.

Its members shall know each other by their deeds and being, and by their eyes, and by no other outward sign save the fraternal embrace.

Its members will dedicate their lives to the silent loving of their neighbor and environment and the planet, while carrying out their task, however exalted or humble.

It recognizes the supremacy of the Great Idea which may only be accomplished if the human race practices love.

It has no reward to offer either here or in the hereafter save that of the ineffable joy of being and loving.

Its members shall seek to advance the cause of understanding, doing good by stealth, and teaching only by example.

Its members shall heal their neighbors, their community and our planet.

Its members shall know no fear and feel no shame, and their knowledge shall prevail over all odds.

All those who belong, belong to the church of love.

I do not need Jesus Christ to love.

I have all that I need within, and do not need to look outside of myself for answers.

The answers are within.

A person in the jungle, who has never seen a book (let alone the bible), can be aware of himself without Jesus, without the Bible.

This is what Jesus was actually preaching. IMHO.

Re: Its Members Shall Know No Fear and Feel No Shame, and Their Knowledge Shall Prevail Over All Odds.
I really liked it!

But, I keep thinking of something here:
Was this translated into English? Was the original "Cathar Prophecy" written in a language other than English?

The use of the word "planet" is out of place. In the 13th Century, the world was believed to be flat, no?, especially by the Roman Catholic Church.

Now, this could be explained by the original using a different word, and whoever translated the work into English, used a more modern translation of the original word- taking some "poetic" liberty- and inserted the word "planet."

(OP) Septenary Man, can you clear this up?

{Also, what does your screenname mean? Isn't Septenary Man the name given to a petrified/frozen body of an early human?}
 Quoting: The Sonic Dreamer

The original language would be Occitaine as the region was named after the language spoken, Langue d'Oc.

The Cathars didn't disappear altogether, they reappeared as the Bogomils.

The irony of their beliefs being shunned by 'Christians' is quite funny...

Satanism and “Sacramental Drugs” in Secret Societies....

Following their schism from the Order of Sion at Gisors, the Knights Templar plunged into Satanism. They had encountered eastern mysticism in part from their stay in the Holy Land, and partially through integrating with the Cathars. From the Cathars they had imbibed the secret doctrines of gnosticism.

As in the Priory of Sion rituals, drugs had an important role in Templar rituals. Holy Blood authors tell us that the Knights acquired their knowledge of drugs from their close association with the “Hashishim, or Assassins [medieval Mafia], the famous sect of militant and often fanatical adepts who were Islam’s equivalent of the Templars.

Yeah, your religion was beautiful back then.

However, since most Cathar parfait (male) or parfaites (female) refused to recant and embrace orthodox Catholic doctrine they were burnt to death as a matter of course. And this was specifically as a result of their religious beliefs as judged heretical by the Dominican Inquisition - not due to revolt against the temporal order. The latter resulted in thousands more being butchered as at the siege of Béziers in 1209 - 7000 in total amounting to the entire population. Arnaud Amoury, the Cistercian abbot-commander wrote to the Pope:

"Today your Holiness, twenty thousand citizens were put to the sword, regardless of rank, age, or sex."

Any recanting Cathars,(first offenders only) were required to wear two yellow crosses on their clothing for the rest of their lives. Half of a 'guilty' person's property was seized by the Church. This included the property of the deceased whom the Dominican Inquisition would exhume, try and then burn posthumously for heresy which allowed them to seize assets and property from their heirs. [55] Many still resisted, taking refuge in fortresses at Fenouillèdes and Montségur, or inciting small uprisings. In 1235, the Inquisition was forced out of Albi, Narbonne, and Toulouse. Raymond-Roger de Trencavel led a military campaign in 1240, but was defeated at Carcassonne in October, then besieged at Montréal. He soon surrendered and was exiled to Aragon. In 1242, Raymond of Toulouse attempted to mount a revolt in conjunction with an English invasion, but the English were quickly repulsed and his support evaporated. He was subsequently pardoned by the king.

Yep, the "writers of the bible" (roman rulers), completely changed what Jesus taught. Changed Jesus's message, and put in all teh "fear mongering".

Although the idea of killing anyone who disagrees with them is nothing new. Even back in 1100 AD, it still wasnt new.

I know it's not across the board, and is probably much worse here on GLP then out in the 'real' world, but Christian Fundies show so much obstinance and shallowness and most recognizably close mindedness than I have ever come across.

I think it's got to be GLP more than anything, but maybe not. Maybe because these kind of discussions just aren't brought up to the 'God fearing' neighbors or whatever, so it never is shown for what it is.

I am in no way against someone's beliefs, I am just making an observation. Is it really like that everywhere?
