The mistake we fell into about the Mayans calender !!!
Briefly,,

there was many arguments about when the Mayan's calender really starts. is it on 11th Aug or 12th Aug or 13th Aug 3114BC..

The Mayans themselves divided into two opinions.
The first agrees that it started in 11th August 3114 BC so it ends at December 21 2012.

The other group thinks it started in 13th August 3114BC,, so it ends at December 23 2012..

But the question is:: Who really made an official announced that Mayan Calender ends on December 21...

Is it a conspiracy?? to drive people's attention from the real date ?

to me i think the Mayans calender started on 13th August 3114 BC .. you might ask me why ?

it makes sense to me, because if we took the total days number of a year which is 365 and divide it by 1.618 to find the day that has the golden ratio.. 365\1.618= 225

Day 225 is August 13...

plus that we know that the ancient Mayans had used the Golden Ration in many things..

So if that's right, then the calender would end on December 23

What do you think ??

This makes much more sense than any of the "they-forgot-leapyear" crap. Very interesting, hope to see some quality discussion :)

if we look into the end date of 12th Baktun..

we found that it ends in 1618 AC ..(( 1618 = Golden Number lol )

as it has been recorded it ends on September 18 1618 and nothing is serious has happened that day ... the interesting thing the day after 18 which 19.. it marked the beginning of the Battle of Pilsen for Thirty years war.. which it was the first major battle..

Good job OP. I've been telling the exact same thing. The actual end date is the 23rd. Like you said it could be to take attention away from the real date. Everyone expects the 21st nothing happens and they go back to there normal lives. Then 23rd happens and all hell breaks lose.

i have an idea..

can we collect all the information about December 23rd ..

for example

- December 23 is the Birth of Venus

- Several crop circles tried to drive attention towards December 23

- Starting of Christmas

.....

We need to gather as many as possible of information about this date ,, so we may see a bigger picture

Exactly!!! I've noticed how many of the main stream media are focusing so much on December 21, and trying to plant it in people's mind. the weird thing, they never talk about the possibility of it may occur on the 22 or 23 of December.. which made me doubt the whole thing

Billions of years from now will mark the end of the whole solar system,,

but not the falling of a certain age or civilization.

One thing that I've learned from history.. Ancient civilizations has fallen and ended in all of sudden, and they weren't even prepared.

When noting happens on December 23 it will turn into, oh no they really meant February 2013. When nothing happens in February 2013 it will be oh no they really meant July 2013. When nothing happens in July 2013 it will be oh no they really meant January 2014. When nothing happens in January 2014 it will be oh no they really meant...and on and on and on and on...

The Mayans calender took my attention, for its really something interesting to study and it has many qualifications to see it as a knowledge rather than a prophecy to what it reveals..

Yeah... That's true. But, when I first heard about this nearly a decade ago I saw both the 21st and the 23rd being talked about. Only in the past few years since it's been getting major media attention has the 23rd all but disappeared. I'll give it til the end of the year and then I'll allow disappointment to fully set in... lol.

Drive people's attention away from what? The mayans never said it was the end of the world, just the end of an age. After the end of one age, another age begins. Hollywood made a lot of money off convincing people it was the end of the world though.
